Why is it so complicated to make a sequel to a cult anime from the 90's?
So much so that even its creator, Tsukasa Hojo, has succumbed to the rule of morality and self-righteousness.
What is City Hunter?
A "male" manga, the female counterpart to cat's eye. Sexualized characters, extreme or even vulgar humor, fan service, nudity, violence, suspense, dynamic stories worthy of a soap opera and, above all, charismatic characters.
Like it or not, this was City Hunter's trademark.
Let's be honest, it's outmoded in this day and age, with "fragile" viewers, recycled screenwriters, omnipresent censorship and non-existent artistic skills.
The only valid City Hunter "film" is and will remain : AÎ to shukumei no magnum.
It smells of reheating, with no daring or initiative, rough animation and an unstructured story.
In short, it does its job of entertaining current viewers.

The main protagonist is a woman. The strongest, the smartest, the bravest.
The most incredible thing is the lack of medieval culture and intelligence of the creators and producers.
Worse still are the predictable scenes, the inconsistencies and the betrayal of the franchise.
It's incomprehensible that Japanese director Kenji Kamiyama should have fallen prey to such horrors. He's known for his excellent Higashi no Eden (2009), Hirune hime (2017) and 009 Re:Cyborg (2012).
Yet another example of the ravages of feminism and wokism.
The only positive point is the high-quality animation and graphics.

Higashi no Eden (Eden of the East) is an 11-episode series concluding with 2 films between 2009 and 2010.
The animation studio is Production I. G. A short, exciting series that deserves the public's interest. Funny, ironic, mature and of very high artistic quality.
Attractive character design, a rich soundtrack and, above all, an incredible script.
The characters are endearing and have depth, which is quite a change from certain productions.
The only drawback is that some of the plot is not easy to understand.
The scenario is reminiscent of Robert Ludlum's novels, and the adventures of Jason Bourne come to mind when I think of this anime.
