This movie was (in my opinion) one of the most forgetably bland superhero movies i have ever seen. Granted there are some cool things about it, especially given Captain America 4, Tim Blake Nelson gives a good performance as (at this time) side character, Dr Samuel Sterns, and even Edward Norton as Bruce was fun. But the action (up until the final battle) was painfully bland, the villain was boring, and overall, the story leaves things to be desired. The romance between Banner and Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) was also pretty fun, but in my personal opinion, A few good things can't ultimately save a mostly forgetful film. At least it's not Ang Lee's Hulk movie. However this movie mainly has one saving grace for me. William Hurt as General Ross does honestly such a good job here that it's not surprising that he kept coming back to play the character until his untimely death.
This may just be the worst movie of 2022. Poorly done CGI aside the writing is bland, the characters have little to no character development, and the pacing goes from breakneck to nonexistent. The "plot" (if you can even call it that) barely exists. That and, whenever this movie isn't so bad it's funny this movie commits the worst crime of all, that being, it's so boring to sit through. With the addition of the aforementioned poorly done CGI, things go from bad to worse as, if you ask me, a good superhero movie typically relies on two things. Visuals and plot. And if those two elements are poorly done, the movie is poorly done.
