It's amazing how good these episodes are when they don't focus on shock gore and disgusting bs and instead focus on the story. That's literally all there is to it. I'm sad this season is coming to an end because it had so much potential, this episode along with episode 4 proves it. This is what we were missing the entire season. Good action, compelling plot, and huge developments. Honestly, this could be a top 5 episode for the entire series. Writers set up an insane finale, let's just hope they can bring it home and give us a great finale that we've all been waiting for. Hopefully Kripke learns from Season 4's criticisms and delivers an amazing season 5.
After a pretty mediocre start, episode 4 completely demolished the first 3. Homelander stole the show, thanks to Antony Starr's Emmy level performance. So many characters face their past in this episode, Frenchie, Kimiko, Hughie, Annie, A-Train and Homelander. It really makes you connect with these characters and the troubles they faced in their past. The writers beautifully tied in all these storylines into one hour of pure mayhem and fun. Episode 4 set up plenty more in the upcoming episodes, which I am sure will be just as good as this one. In my opinion, this is a top 3 episode of the Boys, and rightfully so.
