I saw Wicked: Part 1 on November 21, 2024 at LexLive in Lexington, Kentucky.
Wicked: Part 1 was amazing. I saw the musical off-broadway last year, and really enjoyed it. This film did the first act of the show justice. The cast is absolutely fantastic, the songs were adapted perfectly, and the overall story is very good.
I really don't have any complaints about this film, and I definitely think an Oscar might be in this films future. I'm extremely excited for Wicked: Part 2 and for this film to come to streaming so that I can watch it again.
The movie is fairly family friendly so if you're even a little interested in this movie go watch it.

I saw Moana 2 on November 28, 2024 at LexLive in Lexington, Kentucky.
For being a sequel to a classic movie, Moana 2 is pretty good. The voice acting is great, the story is entertaining, and sometimes it's fairly funny. But it definitely fell short of the expectations I had for it. The first film, Moana (2016), was clever and funny and had an emotional and interesting story. Moana 2's story, while entertaining, was paper thin and missing some key elements. Moana 2 tries to be as emotional as the first, but sometimes feels as if it's telling the audience to laugh or cry instead of letting them feel their own emotions.
Moana 2 is not bad. I laughed a couple times and I enjoyed the film. It is aimed at a younger audience than the original film, but that's expected. If you're looking for a fun new movie to go see, and you were a fan of the first one, go and check Moana 2 out.
