The Expendables (2010)
Such a waste of great potential...
As many of You all, I was looking forward to watching most of my favorite action-stars clash in this movie. The trailer looked promising as well, though I was expecting the filmmakers to have some difficulties making each action-star relevant enough to justify my expectations. To sum it up very short and swift, this was like hammering away on the war drums so everyone was getting scared shitless - and when everyone was expecting an enormous army of demons, out came a mere pack of cows.
I am truly disappointed. The story was just plain bad. And putting Jet Li amongst others in such senseless supporting roles borders insanity in my book. What they should have done was to create a storyline equal to "Heat" and make the true potential of the cast and budget come to life in a meaningful way lasting preferably 3 hours. This was just a waste.
What a potential though...

Echelon Conspiracy (2009)
Miserable
Well well. I checked this movie on IMDb before watching. At this time it has a 6,2/10. I thought to my self, give it a chance. I gave it 30 minutes of my life and I want my 30 minutes back. Holy shi#, this movie sucked! Never in my life have I seen such a wussy, lame actor as Shane West. He must be the sorriest excuse for a man anywhere! And he is just a weak actor! OMG He sucks big time! The 30 minutes I saw was other than that pure nonsense. The plot was predictable and hilarious.
Even though I haven't seen the remaining 1h16m I feel positive to say that this movie is one of the worst I have seen in a couple of years. I would have given it 1, but Tamara Feldman got me aroused in the hotel hallway.
Disgusting!
Transsiberian (2008)
This movie sucked!
Transsiberian was a waste of time. I found myself talking to myself, saying: "FFS!" and "Come on!". It was boring and filled to the rim with old tarded clichés like strange faces, birds and unique colors.
The script was unoriginally predictable. I wasn't surprised once.
I hate Woody Harrelson when he's depicted as the mentally challenged goofy dude. In this movie he's both goofy and dumb. Come on, Woody! It's a mystery how this movie scored 7,3 at this time. People are easily satisfied these days, I guess.
Don't waste your time, guys... Trust me...

Felon (2008)
Excellent movie!
This was just great, guys - I loved it!
The acting was great, the script was great, the cast was great! I was actually moved by the performances and the storyline in this movie. It made me realize that I take lots of stuff for granted in this world. As easily as waking up in the morning - as easily and swiftly your life can be turned upside down. This movie perspectivates ones life and at the end, what you're left with, is the feeling of fulfillment and the urge to do something good to the ones you love - or find somebody to love and take good care of them.
A bit gory and ironic at the end - but overall - like one of the other reviews said - one of the greater prison-movies! ...And Val Kilmer - OMG - GREAT JOB, DUDE!
What a great experience, guys! Thank you for that!

The Happening (2008)
This was just weak...
I'm sad to say that this movie was weaker than I expected. I heard people talk badly about it, but I just put in my Ipod plugs or simply ignored them. I love Hollywood and I do my utmost best to never have the infamous "filter" up when I go to the cinema. Sadly this movie was weak - and oh my God - what a tarded ending it had... Besides a couple of unnecessary thrills, that kept me stimulated, this movie sucked really badly. I loved all of his previous movies though, so I just don't get it. The 6th Sense, Signs, The Village (except for the ending) and Unbreakable were all some of the better movies I've seen, but this one just lacked in a huge way. The characters are lame and uninteresting, the acting is actually quite bad and the script was just lame. The ending sucked big time and I mean it when I say that Mark Wahlberg was misfit in the part of Elliott.
Bad job, guys - I'm really really reeeaaallyyy disappointed!
Fitna (2008)
Brace yourselves! The Omen Has Arrived!
For its purpose, Gert Wildeers pulled off a horrifically tragic and impressive piece of short-film. It shows how Islam and the Quran is misinterpreted by radical Muslims and a couple of the consequences of just that. The short-film is designed to bring out fear in the audience by telling the old sad story of terrorism and the bad experiences that has risen throughout Europe and the USA.
No doubt - What is shown is true. What this movie doesn't show us is the good Muslim doing his job, the Muslim making friends with Europeans and Americans and the Muslim adapting to his new environments. To generalize and expect people to be dumb as cattle are not the way to go about these matters. Digging even deeper trenches between the Islamic culture and western culture is a bad idea. Unless You just wanna say "fcuk it" and arm up as we speak. I don't have the solution to these problems that we experience these days. I just don't feel that this short-film is going to help solve anything at all... Especially in this turbulent time of satiric drawings and no-good trade embargoes.
Somebody needs to give that man a hug. There are lots of Muslims acting retarded in this world. But luckily there are significantly more acting like the rest of us.
God bless us all!

August Rush (2007)
A truly beautiful making of the symphony of love
These days innovative storytelling and new ways of affecting the viewer are hard to come by. In despite of this the producer actually pulled it off! It started out as "just OK" but kept on gathering the components from me - it was like it removed parts of my "hollywood-shield" which normally shuts down most attempts to get me all emotional. It made me want to get emotional! Damn good movie! This was a fresh breath of air, that you only happen to stumble upon a few times a year. August Rush was well worth every second! Give me a free ticket to the moon and I would have preferred watching this movie instead! Thanks a lot - Greetings from Denmark! /Martin Warm Jakobsen
