Maybe it's just been so long since we got an epic like this or maybe it's actually good. Either way I was in the theater with a cheesy smile on my face from beginning to end. Mescal doesn't live up to Crowe, but really who could. Denzel was fantastic, Pedro Pascal was great. The cons of this movie is the almost impossible coincidences that continually happen in this movie, but I will argue that part 1 is no different in this aspect. Try not to think too much and just enjoy the show and be happy you're back in that world. It felt great to be back in and I think the action was great. It may have had more action and definitely had more gore than the original. Long story short grab your popcorn and just have a good time for 2 and half hours. "Strength and honor"
This movie is crazy. Samara Weaving is great as usual. There's no talking so be prepared for that. It starts with guys trying to sacrifice Azrael and we are off and running from there. This movie doesn't stop from that point. A lot of action and a lot of gore. This movie is tailor made for someone like me that likes to see different things that leave me with questions when it's over. I'm pretty sure I got it, but I'm ready to hear another person's take on what they take away from this and the ending. So that being said it is not going to be for everyone and that's OK. I will totally understand someone not liking this, but if you like crazy, strange, and wtf movies? This is for us. Did I mention Samara Weaving rules?
It's terrifier so you know what you are getting in to. Extreme violence and gore with a crazy plot that on the surface appears to be shallow, but if you look closer there is a lot more going on. Sienna is the embodiment of good with biblical ties. The angel wings, dying to be resurrected and even a crown of thorns. Art and the clown girl are obviously the evil, but to what end? This one starts off with a bang and paces pretty well throughout the movie. It's amazing watching David Howard Thornton make no noise and still be terrifying as a mute clown through mostly facial expressions which I feel like it's perfectly balanced by Lauren LaVera's Sienna Shaw. Everything else is just a plus. If you liked the first 2 you'll enjoy this one. I personally like this one the best, but that's my opinion.
