Doom Patrol (2019)
Self pity fest
I've had this problem with several series lately. Great first season with new and interesting characters, but by season 2 it's clear they have already run out of ideas (American Gods comes to mind). I wish more shows had a clear idea where the story leads when they are picked up. I stopped watching several times during season 2, but in the end managed to finish, all the time hoping it would get better. It never did. The fun was gone, and the main focus was the trauma of the main characters. The amount of self pity... Gave season 3 a fair shot, but 2 1/2 episodes in I gave up. Not engaged at all.
Titans (2018)
Just could not get into it
I liked season 1, but 4 episodes into season 2 and I'm jumping ship. I really tried, but I'm just not enjoying it. Feels more like a superhero soap opera than anything else. Some good scenes and cool effects, but they are far between. Too much talking and drama for my taste. I'm waiting for it to take off, but very little of interest happens. It lacks the charm you find in most Marvel series, and I notice I don't care about any of the characters.
6 Underground (2019)
Nothing to see here
I tried watching this movie twice, mainly because of Ryan Reynolds. First time I got about 20 minutes in, and the second time I gave up after 30. I like big, dumb action movies, and I don't mind watching action sequences from a variety of angles (John Woo...), but here it was done to the extreme with crazy fast editing and just a couple of seconds from each camera angle. It was really annoying. The terrible attempt at snappy dialogue didn't help. 30 minutes in with no real hint of a story, and I couldn't care less about any of the characters. What a waste.
Colombiana (2011)
Everybody's a film critic.
Nothing fantastic, but a decent action movie. Giving it 1 star is absolutely ridiculous. Very few movies deserve 1 (same goes for 10), yet here on IMDB it's wildly overused. If you can't see the difference in quality between an Ed Wood movie and Colombiana (production, story, acting etc.), you really shouldn't rate movies. Most likely you just enjoy shitting on things, which seems quite popular these days. A mediocre movie deserves 4-6 stars, not bloody 1, and if you watch enough movies you should at least learn to see the difference between shitty and mediocre. Colombiana is not great, but kept my interest up and it's clearly better than a shitload of other action movies. I rate it somewhere between 6 and 7, but round up because of all the idiotic 1's.
