Possibly the last ever good show that TCS/Mediacorp would do. Its stellar cast and its theme of babies that were switched at birth (one of the most popular themes in the genre) make for the perfect telenovela/teleserye. Zoe and Fann are tops as the eponymous babies switched at birth, while Li Nan Xing does one of his best roles as the comical "Ah Da" who cannot gamble for nuts. And Tay Ping Hui's "professional thief" persona make him the legit successor to Law Kar Leung.
Fun fact: The Ultimatum was (and still is) so popular in the US that it inspired a similar telenovela, Switched At Birth, which debuted in 2011 and aired for five seasons on the ABC channel for a total of 103 episodes.
After The Ultimatum ended its run, sadly Mediacorp would turn into the Mediacorpse that it is today, and all of its subsequent shows would become complete wastes of money and time. There will likely never be another show like The Ultimatum again. For that reason, I give The Ultimatum 10 stars.

Clear rip-off of NCIS - all this talk about border patrols and everything. (Why can't you just stop with all the ripoff bullcrap, Mediacorpse?) Something that you could well have already gotten with Third Watch (1999), NCIS (2003), or Chicago Fire/PD/Med (2012), all of which were executed far better. Also, this piece of bullcrap was too heavily publicised - something you wouldn't see except in an oligarchic dictatorship ruled by the one same group of rich dictators for close to seven decades.
If I were you I'd just watch NCIS or Chicago PD or Third Watch - far better than this load of bullcrap, and definitely more credible. Don't waste your time watching this.

Doesn't even deserve one star. Obvious rip-off of Law & Order. I'm surprised Dick Wolf Enterprises hasn't sued over this one as it is not part of the canon of L&O international episodes (Paris Enquetes Criminelles, Law & Order Toronto, etc). Logo also stolen from Law & Order. No need to say that the two-part storyline is also a clear rip-off as well. And for the record the spelling of some words would get the executive producer a failing grade in English - most notably the Arabic word "Sharia" (not that we know how to spell "syut up", seriously!).
Fans of true crime drama, just watch the original Law & Order, you'll be on safe grounds; and don't waste your time/money on this piece of bullcrap.
