This was exactly what I was looking for in a feel good holiday film! The cast felt like a natural fit and the performances are genuine and entertaining. There's something for every viewer to enjoy, so glad this was released to stream worldwide; if you like modern African cinema I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Highlights for me were the cast of characters, each performer is charismatic with moments to shine; the very accessible storylines of family, friends and romantic relationships depicted that may be complex but flow well together in the story and feel just like our own lived experiences. Plenty of humor & heart plus I was surprised how many quotable lines and moments that made me laugh out loud (s/o to Zach, Ajani and the French caterer) I was totally enveloped in the production design, the entire film is amazingly colorful and stylish, incl the settings and especially the wardrobes/costumes.
The last thing I haven't seen mentioned as much yet is the music! Starting from the first scene the songs playing really elevate the vibe and are perfect complements to the story and make the whole film easy to enjoy. There are also several popular Naija artists that cameo and perform throughout. If you like any popular culture coming out of African right now I can recommend Christmas in Lagos - may be a classic for years to come!
