Bad Film
15 June 2022
Dialogues, Shot Making, Editing, Direction - everything is amateurish. Ryan has produced this movie, and did he not give independence to his creative team, or was it a bad team work with lot of internal squabbles?

Even the actors did a very bad job.

Never knew Bradley could sing as well..
14 July 2019
A great movie. Acting and cinematography was good. There was scope for Gaga to do even better.

Story telling wise I would have wished to give more footage to the reason of the drift between Ally and Jack. It wasn't only alcohol. It was Ally's jump to pop & dance that annoyed Jack and made him drink more. It was Ally's manager's selfishness and lies.

Overall Bradley sang and acted well. Gaga was okay. Songs were great. Cinematography was excellent.

Must watch. A seven from my side.

Raag Desh (2017)

I enjoyed and got emotional..

Raag Desh like films must be made, and must be made like Raag Desh - honest, sincere, well researched and realistic without over sensationalism in any direction.

It is a story that will take to the times when India was fighting for independence at various levels. The language, dress, sets and the manner of speaking has been done so well that one would not contest the idea and the script. It makes a true story even truer.

The film brings out the patriotism the way it existed in India of then. The elite educated in the British built systems and institutions had accepted the British way of life, but there were fringes which discovered that true freedom is about running / owning the country and its jurisdiction. All the patriots portrayed are from well to do English speaking families and that makes the film interesting to watch. It brings a different perspective.

It is a must watch for every Indian to realize the cost of independence and the India of those times.

Creative & Out of the Box
18 May 2013
Beginners is made with a very creative & imaginative mindset.

The beauty is in its methods of capturing emotions, delivering emotions. The argument scene with no dialogs and background music; The color frames to express emotions, the sketches, the one-liners, the look in the eye, the look of the eye... every scene is done with lot of patience, thought and care.

The whole movie is shot with a very narrow depth of field, and that makes the movie so endearing.

And lastly the dog.. what do I say? He simply adds the remaining colors to the film.

Acting was superb, but I had the feeling that the credit goes to the director to bring out those emotions.

Very happy to watch this movie.

Thank you.
