Radium Girls (2018)
Wasted Opportunity
If I could give this movie a 0, I would.
I am very familiar with the story of the real Radium Girls and this movie is a disgrace to their legacy. Entirely too much focus on matters irrelevant to the story, obvious factual inaccuracies, glaring anachronisms, and poor dialogue. Someone's pathetic attempt at "artsy" cinematography and storytelling was reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project. I felt like I needed to take a Dramamine halfway through to curb both the nausea from motion sickness of the amateur cinematography and from the total disgust I felt while watching. So much filler and almost no actual content. The editing is choppy and incoherent, leaving the viewer to wonder if the characters had magical powers to disappear and reappear from one shot to the next. Such a wasted opportunity to tell an extremely important story that shaped the American Legal System in Workplace Law, was a catalyst for the development of OSHA, and greatly furthered our scientific knowledge of radioactivity, that very few people have heard. If this is the average person's only exposure to this story, that is a loss and a slap in the face to the thousands of girls who suffered through this tragedy.
Dragons: Rescue Riders: Secrets of the Songwing (2020)
Kids love it!
All three of my boys are fans of the entire Dragon franchise and they love music, so it's perfect for them. The songs are simple but catchy and it's cool to hear Renee Elise Goldsberry in another singing role. The boys' minds were blown that Melodia and Angelica are the same person!
Coupling (2003)
Ugh! What was NBC thinking?
I have always been a fan of NBC's "Must See Thursday" lineup, but Coupling is one of the worst TV shows I have ever seen. I am a huge Friends fan and I am insulted that NBC thought that this was anywhere on par with Friends. This show is basically an excuse to say breast and sex as many times as possible in one half hour. I hope they cancel this sorry excuse for comedy soon.
