  • NEEDS MORE SALT

Modern films have lost one thing that made movies in my day mean something.

Salt, by salt I mean flavor & by flavor I mean heart.

Look at Jason Bourne, in his first movie we got to piece how he could do his craft, we sympathized with his thinking just by flashbacks & info from here and there all about him While along the way he kept doing his John wick thing.

But here our guy can't even pull us into his world even when training or close to his contacts.

No life with his wife except that tiny flashback which alone doesn't have much to pull us in, no flashes with his education or hackers paradise.

Everything of his is already laid out, working to plan, single handedly.

On the other hand agency can't even get to this tiny bug.

Even the close shaves will make you think perhaps this is the son of God.

Eventually the meal is great but the salt is just not enough making the flavor bland.

Takes out ppl who didn't kill his wife, to spare the one who did.

Make it make sense, gets those who used to agency for their own benefit locked up, but he himself does the same & walks

The only amateur here is the writer.

  • MERRY GO ROUND

I have the game, got it 2020 but couldn't get into it, something about having to read & choose options that put me off.

I'm a gamer who likes to pick up a controller and control movement, instead of waiting to choose an option after a long dialogue.

So I was skeptical of watching the movie before finishing the game.

Somehow I decided let me just watch maybe I may be motivated to finish the game.

I went in open and ready for dissapointment because for one, I dislike the Horror theory of always focusing on high school teenagers who always end up in a cabin in the woods

    Why, why & why?

Well my dissapointment was met instantly as the teenagers came together & alas like every horror We got the splitting couple, the womanizer, the loose girl, the football captain, the geek & as always the clown.

Then you know what follows, they somehow turn into dumb NPC's that will, yes die one after the other simple because

The teens suddenly lose sense of survival, can't share critical info, have social issues & as always at best get each other killed.

The movie somehow thrilled me on the deaths, no time wasting, no stalling, straight to the point & it was brutal.

Some goofy but well I managed to watch it all & saw the odd ending but took it as I'm aware that the game alone, the ending is based on your choices & I didn't want to stick to that one.

  • LUKEWARM

I was there when the first one dropped, making the franchise a breath of fresh air in horror genre, away from monster vs men to accidents.

It was horrific, even today I'm not comfortable around logs or highway trucks.

Now this one, in my opinion I would have loved it in 3D like it's predecessor.

As I can see how they paid much attention to CGI than everything else.

For someone who grew up with the franchise, this installment comes short in terms of premise.

For those who binged to catch the ride, well this one will drop of as another round to the same old same old.

I dont know why horror genre always focuses on teens.

Consider the part of the kid, not expected but I swear everyone enjoyed the "sick" outcome - why teens always - we need dads, grannies & pets for crying out loud.

The problem here is how the entire group happens to cope, calamity after calamity.

You know the situation in movies where crime just happens and cops are either useless or none existant.

Well here you get a family burying ppl & dad wearing the same suite since the first funeral to the next.

No one even questions the oddness of how could you have so much in such a short time.

Not to mention, how do you even manage to leave an accident scene that needs answers.

Drive off with a smile, no sense of emotional turmoil.

So much about the family that could have made us attached to the family & feel the pain, but somehow, we are left not caring at all, as directors somehow felt it's not worth it, I don't know.

Alone all this makes you as the viewer feel like, all you're being shown is how cool CGI is in showcasing 100 ways to die.

Instead of mortifying you in a horrific way & earn your approval that it's peak horror.
