Blue Story (2019)
Same old same old.
Seen this type of film numerous times over the past 20 years. Story line is fairly basic.
Saying that the performers put in a decent effort and the guy rapping along with the story is a nice touch.
As long as it sends the message to kids growing up in impoverished areas and they latch into to it I can't say it's a bad film.
I also can't say it is that great.
97% Owned (2012)
Must see.
Explains the introduction and impact of Britain and The USA adopting Fractional Reserve Banking System.
Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012)
A reflection on...
... what could, should, should not and everything in between.
I've come across this film at a pivotal time in my life. The reason for watching is my love for Andy Samberg & Rashida Jones, from their performances in various films and series but mainly from my love of comedy; Brooklyn 99 and Parks & Recreation respectively.
The story isn't complicated nor is it profound. However for me at this exact moment in my fleeting existence it struck a tone. A tone of reflection.
This is not feel good film. Underneath the basic storyline and barely 2d character portrayals is a vast emotional journey of remorse, regret, happiness lost and a lasting message that life goes on with or without your blessing.
Samberg, Jones et al. cannot be criticised for their performances. Nor can I award great accolade. For me the message and the inspiration comes from the screen okay. You need to be at a certain cross road in your life to fully appreciate what this film has to offer.
I have found inspiration in it. Others I imagine may find it uneventful or 'boring'
It captures an emotion and a time almost all of us will go through in life. Bear that in mind.
Deal (2008)
If poker was a cliché.
Honestly don't waste your time. This movie is so translucent I'm surprised they managed to capture any of it on film.
1 dimensional characters and story line. You could predict the entire movie after 5 minutes of play time.
You have been warned.
The Twilight Zone: The Wunderkind (2019)
Probably the worst episode of any TV show ever made.
My brain is literally vomiting all over itself in disbelief that someone conceived the idea of this episode, actually composed a screenplay of it, handed it to another human being thinking it may have potential. That human being then consulted at least 4 or 5 of his peers who all then decided it would be worth investing $200 - $300k into making it a visual experience for the general public.
Never watch this. In fact destroying all copies of it would be of benefit to the human race.
