Real people and real football
9 June 2023
I loved how the docu features not only the owners, the staff and the football players but also the people of Wrexham.

You get to feel the heartbeat of this club.

You see their lives unfold while the club reaches higher levels.

And the games! They are intense!

I love watching the Dutch national team play during world cups and Euro cups and I love the collective heartattack you get from watching this together.

The one who edited this series know the game and knows how to make you yell at the screen or jump up on your chair just like in full matches.

I really enjoyed it and hope everybody else does too!

This show really melted my brain! In a good way!
22 November 2020
I started watching it and it was automatically in English dubbing. I wasn't too bothered to switch it to German until the cowboy voice of Ulrich started to bother me after an episode or 2. Then I switched to German (since I'm Dutch I could handle it as well) And from then on I WAS HOOKED! Oh my... this show was so complex, so interesting, so mind bubbling, so dramatic, so intense and sometimes so romantic and heart breaking! Oh I could not stop watching!

Although I watched all 3 seasons all at once I can imagine the added value of having to wait for next season. To have it marinate in your brain for a while. Maybe it pops up at some occasions where you wonder about it... how would it go on, what would be next? Or before? Also the ending has been going though my mind all day today! It was not as I expected but none of this series ever was! I love it!

Everything about it was just so smart that I felt so lucky to have found this gem!

This show will really stick at the top of my list of favorite series for a long time!

too short
31 July 2020
As a non-cuber I really missed al lot of info on cubing, the kind of tournaments and how they determine the winners and why only one of the competitions qualify as the world championship even when someone else won everything else... There was literally no suspence while they were competing the world championships. Either give more info on the game, the judging, other competitiors or film it more suspenced for the audience. Now it was just more a video recap of two boys in a competition and learning some about their background and enjoying that they are quite friendly competitors. Which is nice but not that exceptional in other topsports.

Why in the world is Carmen Sandiego..... not like the real game?
22 March 2020
I like these interactive series on Netflix. They're fun and you can try again and again to get different endings. But why.... why... did they forget that Carmen Sandiego was originally a GAME??? Why aren't you the ACME agent travelling across the world trying to find clues who the thief is and where is going next, get a warrant, locate the thief in time and arrest him/her? Untill you succesfully reach Carmen? WHY in the world????

BRILLIANT! I'm getting this for my future teenagers!
9 October 2017
I think all 13 year old's should watch this! yes it's awkward.. yes they'll watch it while constantly giggling...

But it's all true! Which is awesome!

My kids are almost 3 & almost 4 months... Can't wait to see them get into puberty (not too quick though...) Love those awkward memories! :-D

brave new world????
12 July 2006
This movie reminded me a lot of my favorite book: A brave new world by Aldous Huxley.

In this book the people are also all ranked in social status by their genetics.

This futuristic vision was written in 1932, but it's likely that this will sort of happen.

that people will be judged by their genetics and that parents are going to give birth to the best mix of their gene-pool (although in the book people don't even have parents anymore, but that probably won't happen)

this movie is sort of like that. that your genetics will base the total course of your life.

but like the book there is someone that questions this way of life

and tries to get out of all this

the rest of the book is totally different

but if you liked this movie

go and read this book

because to me it's the best book there is!!!!!!!!

and this movie is also very good and beautifully made!!!

memorial day
4 May 2006
Today it's memorial day, and right now it's on TV. My mother called me that I HAD to watch this one because what the movie is partly about my grandfather (her father) was there during the resistance. (he was apparently there during the raid at the register ---> he was leader of a group called Nico Muller and a Sniper) So that's cool!!! My grandfather has died a few years ago but I'm glad that he was such a hero when he was young!!! Every year on the fourth of May I always remember him. And the movie so far seems like the typical kind of dutch war movies, with all the very well known great actors, And they're always good.
