So recently I saw an interesting man on Instagram, and it was Anton, he had lots of great mini videos of engineer life in Soviet Russia, and I can say, honestly, I loved it.
For people living in Russia, it is a relatable funny show, it reminds me of a sitcom, but with one actor only. Lapenko has a great sense of humor and charisma, he is a good actor too, but the thing is, I don't see him in a movie. Short films with some humor - sure, 20 minutes - I don't think so.
I mean, it is great, sometimes funny, but I can't say I was laughing, maybe a little smile because of nostalgia and great acting but not laughing, I didn't watch the whole season (I mean first 5 episodes) because I just can't...
It is good for short films, but certainly not for long episodes.
I gave it a 7, and I think it is fair enough: Great acting - yes Funny - well 50/50 Picture - as it should be, I can feel 80's spirit Idea - well that's where the problem is... I don't understand an idea, it's just a life of a caricatured engineer in Soviet Russia, nothing more, and it is NOT bad for comedy series like this, but I don't have enough comedy, I want more.
Maybe over time, I'll have some kind of strength to see whole season, only because of an actor, but as I see it now, it is good for 1-minute sketches only.
I may change this review over time, I can't decide between 7 and 8.

I really liked, can't say it is only because of the scenario, the casting is unbelievably good, I liked every God damn actor in this piece of art. The mystery isn't so spectacular as I thought, it looks entangled, but after the movie, I found it pretty easy.
But I think this movie is not about mystery in the general when I watched it, I didn't think about the whole case of murder, I listened to all the discussions and were mostly interested by them and acting, but it is my subjective opinion...
