I would usually score this an 8, but at the time of my posting it scored a 5.5 which makes no sense to me.
You would never know by watching it, but this is a low budget movie (about 10% of what Oblivion cost to make). I stumble by accident on this movie and given the quality of most SF stories today I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised.
The special effects are impressive for low budget movie, although they are not essential to the story line. It is a dark SF story (like Alien), but does not follow your typical Hollywood ending (which I always like), but is my guess why it gets panned in the reviews.
I story line is strong, I didn't find myself say "come on!" during this movie once (which is rare for me in SF pictures), that is not to say there are no moments, that are a little bit of a stretch, but all in all a good ride.
Just so you know, I also Ejoyed Moon, Sunshine and Prometheus (I would only give Oblivion a 7, it was okay but very predictable, and about 8 "come on!" moments)
As for this, if you haven't enjoyed a SF horror in a while, I think you will be entertained by this...

Okay so I always fall in love with shows that get cancelled...
Here is my list "Arrested Development", "Firefly", "Hidden Hills", "Coupling (BBC)", "Pig Sty", "Oliver Bean", "Family Guy" (but that one came back...).
I don't get it lots of crap on TV makes it and goes on for a long time. Then these smart shows (excuse Family Guy, not so smart but makes me laugh) get canned.
I think the mass population is not ready for Comedies without laugh tracks. They need to be told when something is funny.
What really kills me is that this shows can not be found on DVD. I think when a network decides to can a show they should make it downloadable of the NET (they could be lower grade quality). If it turns out that X thousand downloads are observed, either package the show for DVD and/or bring the show back in repeats and if it does well, pick it back up.
It strikes me that those of us who aren't into Reality shows have few show to enjoy today. I cant wait for a TV channel that picks up all these well written shows and airs only that kinda programming...
Don't get me wrong I like successful sitcoms too(Seinfeld, Friends, Frasier, Cheers, etc.) So NBC and FOX, please give your smart sitcoms a second chance...
