Apocalypse Z: El principio del fin (2024)
loved the commitment to his cat!
I skipped the beginning because i wanted to see if its worth while, and it totally is - so you can safely invest your time, it will get into the story quite nice with a realisitc build up. The dystopian feeling is intense and i was mentally checking my own storage while watching. The main character is very likeable and i valued his interactions with survivers even though he splatters zombie brain if necessary. Did not mind the subtitles at all, as the cinematography is speaking for itself and the dialogue is easy to follow. The scene where he rides the motorcross bike through the forrest was A+. Also, the zombies are the fast running kind.
Don't Move (2024)
wow, that was actually really good
Maybe i am so pleasently suprised because i had no expectations. The premise was interesting, and i recognized the male lead, but there are just so many bad movies since the last 5 years or so and the trailer didn't help. But although its slow and somewhat maybe simple both main roles just fit perfectly - and there is no need for any more of.. anything. I watched it while pausing in between and doing other stuff and it still was atmospheric (not sure how to describe this) when i came back to it. Also funny in a way - but thats maybe just me. I also liked the other supporting roles/interactions - the acting as well as the storyline/characters.. so maybe don't expect too much and go with it.
Envidiosa (2024)
I like it very much.
Even though i watch it with subtitles its not overwhelming and it has a nice flow. You don't get bored, entertains you until one episode is over and you feel you watched a movie. But there is always the want to know what will happen next. Not so stereotypical that you roll your eyes (like with most hollywood productions that are typically so unrealistic.. you know: the appartement, the job, the treatment in hospitals where everyone has a first class suit). I guess its a chick flick type of sitcom, but its also kind of funny, so maybe its not limited in that way. So yeah, thats it. Watch it, just alone for her therapy sessions i can say, you won't be dissapointed!
Beist (2023)
that was intense..
I skipped through the first episode to get a feel of it and i very much liked it. I did the same with the next two and by the fourth i was watching the whole episode non stop till the last one. Yeah, its about soccer and they are teens but it does not feel like it at all. The casting is spot on, the quality is excellent and and you get everything that is going on, even though its another language and you are reading subtitles. I dont want to go too much intp the psychology of it all, its quite self explanatory. The main character just conveys.everything he feels without having to say something. You will see what i mean.
