Chikyû Bôeigun (1957)
Once again all you need to escape the pressure of the earth is a space ship.
Well I gave the sound track an 8 easy to dance to but hard as hell to follow the words for a sing along. Great miniatures and special effects, loved the glowing underbelly of the flying saucers. The giant robot monster looking like an armadillo on steroids was a real hit,very original. This from the land of cherry blossoms and tea gardens, who could have guessed the folks of the rising sun had a western touch of humor. It is a great way to pass a raining Saturday morning.

Dated but in a time capsule sort of way.
Things are just about the way they were for young people at the time just before choice. It may not have had today's broad slice of life in your face stance, but it was not the order of the day.It reflects the last days of a total lack of knowledge and misunderstood truths among the teenagers of that most recent time. Attractive actors may have brought a few more young people to see and think about the films' moral.
