This is a great anime flick, but like I say, you got to be able to handle the gore. There's a lot of it. It must be a standard rule of japanese anime that every human body contains on the order of a hundred gallons of blood, all of it contained under high pressure. Be that as it may, I thought the story was pretty interesting. Post apocolyptic, nuclear wasteland kinda theme is not that original but action is good. My favorite character is Rei, a white haired fighter who can slice guys apart with his fingers and can move his hands so quickly that they are just a blur. I really like the way they did the end credits, where ken wanders off into the wastelands searching for his lost julia and sees a vision of the beautiful world that they might someday help grow. Surprisingly touching I thought.
This is the one anime movie I recommend to anyone interested in the genre. Superb animation, Good voice acting, (in the dubbed versions of anime films, this is a rarity,) unforgettable characters. (my favorites are , the shadowy ninja and the blind ninja.) It's got quite a bit of gore and some (seemingly gratuitous at times) nudity, but don't let that turn you off! Jubeii is one cool character and kigero is not your usual helpless female victim. My favorite anime film yet!
The baddest professional asassain I've ever seen! Good anime flick. The main character, golgo 13 is a character so stoic, so stonefaced, that he hardly cracks even a hint of emotion even when in the act of having hot sex. There's a good deal of that in the movie, and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the plot, but that's the standard bug about most anime movies I've seen. Oh well, the kiddos should get a good thrill out of it anyway. The action is intense! This guy is an amazing shot, with either his modified M 16 or his revolver. My favorite scene is when he goes head to head with Snake (a repulsive, toothless villain who uses bladed yo-yos to kill his victims. I'm not making this up,) in an elevator. The final brawl he had with the twin killers Silver and Gold was cool too, but given how much they hyped up the two characters beforehand, I frankly expected them to put up more of a fight. Anyway, it's a great anime flick.
