Uncut Gems (2019)
Nighmare, Thank God their is an end
Noise, noise, yelling, noise. This movie was a loud, chaotic, and disorganized mess.
I tuned out after a while because it felt like I was in the middle of an argument and know that person will never hear you. He was spiraling down, deeper into a hole and you never got the impression he thought he had anything to lose.
From the workers digging for diamonds, to this so called relationship he had with fixing NBA games, it was unrealistic.
The only peace was when they shot him in the head and he stopped yelling.
Hustlers (2019)
Curiosity Grab
This movie was so terrible. The only reason it got any good reviews is because of the voyeurs. Most "Watchers" just wanted to see Jennifer and ladies mostly naked. If that's what your looking for, their it is. Other than that a rating of 3 for me is being generous.
Untying the Knot (2019)
Unfortunately this happens everywhere
I gave this Documentary a "10" because, It's real, honest and these women live the ultimate example of courage. The abuse that women endure by their husbands or partners, is not limited to lower class family's or third world countries. It's a nondiscriminatory mindset that spans the world. I believe it's a very important message for all girls, and young women. They should know how to be treated, self respect and what real "Love" is. And if something happens, even if it seems small, tell someone, call a help-line and never think your alone. This Documentary will give courage to all women, and open the door for others struggling through the same situations
A Question of Faith (2017)
I can't Imagine
This movie shouldn't be judged by being a "Christian" movie. It's a realistic and current to what's happening today. Even if you don't pray or believe in a specific God. Everyone questions why are we here? What is our purpose in life? It's faith, and things happen for a reason. The movie left me feeling satisfied, grateful and at peace. It's a beautiful movie that touches your heart.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (2008)
A film you will never forget
The history of the Holocaust has been told many times in every format. However this movie has a little twist that leaves you numb. Why? Because it explains simply, that whatever Atrocities humankind inflicts on others; you have already done the same to your own. And you remain thinking, why don't we all have that perspective at all times, or why hasn't it changed us to be better human beings?
I'm Not Ashamed (2016)
You just wonder why? and their is no answer.....
This is a sweet story on one hand, and is a tragedy on the other. It's a story of an ordinary teenage girl experiencing first love, heartbreak and struggling with her faith. The true story of Rachel Scott, is the main focus of the film and its Heartbreaking to say the least. The movie is about Rachel and the person she was, and her faith in God. The shooting is secondary, and is only relevant to the unnecessary, unimaginable loss of potential in each victim. The innocent lives lost affected the world. We don't know the difference they would have made, the accomplishments. I believe through this movie that's what Rachel Scott did; she is still making a difference.
Sorry to Bother You (2018)
Didn't see that coming!
This movie started off great! (Hoping it could be a better version of Office Space) Finally a movie about life, and how Monotonous, draining, and ironic it can be. Most people feel that way about their jobs, and we can all relate. However, all of a sudden I don't know what happened. Theirs half werewolf/human clones running around fighting each other. A big scientific experiment on a telemarketing pyramid scheme. What's going on? Oh well ....The movie had so much promise, but what a disappointment.
Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor (2013)
Nails on a chalkboard
I just read a little bit of the movie, and it sounded alright, but I didn't know who was in the film. Then I see Kim Kardashian. Let's just say, I would rather put a campfire out with my face, then see her in anything. She was terrible, superficial and a even acting as herself, she was unbelievable...you know, just like in real life. YUCK. OK, I get passed her, and it was unrealistic and a disappointment. You feel so sorry for the husband, and the wife does a 360, from virgin bride, to drinking, drugging and cheating (could be a country song in there somewhere). I usually like a Tyler Perry's type movie, but not this one.
I, Daniel Blake (2016)
It hit the nail on the head!
I love these kinds of movies. It's all about "REAL" life. A life that's sad, unfortunately true and not fair. The relationship with Dan and Katie is a tale about two people hitting hard times, and being there of each other. It's endearing and heartfelt. However, they struggle for the basics to survive, that shouldn't exist today. It's a wake-up call for everyone to help your own communities, give what you can and donate to the local food banks. It's a great movie about two unlikely people coming together in dark times, and form a loving bond. This movie is a must see!
Compliance (2012)
Uncomfortable, Incomprehensible, but it's Happened?
I didn't know this was happening, and it's hard to believe that it did. This true story it difficult to watch. It makes you feel so vulnerable, sick and frustrated, like the victim felt like when this was happening to her. You might want to turn it off (I almost did), but see it through, and you will understand why this movie was made. I would have liked them to show what happened to the "Criminal" instead of having to look it up. It is certainly one of those movies you will never forget.
Lucy (2014)
It was surprisingly very good
I didn't know what to expect, the trailer didn't really tell the story. Also Morgan Freeman, anything he's in, I'm watching. He's the best! Scarlett Johansson was also refreshing in this role, well done! The movies kept my attention 100%. And I didn't see a lot of things coming, which the viewer doesn't get that often. If your ready to dissect the science, get over yourself! It's Science-Fiction at it best, and you don't have to be up in a spaceship hunting down aliens. Give it a go, it's a good watch!
Life (2017)
I think I have seen this before
This is a morph of every sci-fi, alien movie I have seen before. It has many similarities to "Aliens, The Thing and Pitch Black" without the fear (which those movies are best in this class). In "Aliens, The Thing and Pitch Black" the creatures crawled, ran, jumped, implanted eggs in your throat, and grew at an enormous rate. These creatures glide, fly and stick to you, crawl inside you, and grow at an enormous rate. In addition as per the previous movies, only 1 or 2 people are left, and now Earth is in danger because the creature hitches a ride with one of the astronauts. Which happened in "Aliens, The Thing and Pitch Black". If you just cannot get enough of these movies, then it is a good watch for you. If you're looking for something new in an outer space, alien, sci-fi movie, this isn't it.
You Were Never Really Here (2017)
Trying to hard
Joaquin has a knack for being creepy, and this film is no different. I mean if you need a slimy guy..(as he was in Gladiator) he's your man. He takes different roles and as an Artist that's what makes him interesting. However the film was cluttered in a sense of what his mind was trying comprehend with his suffering. Joe's fight with the past and his duty to justify his current actions isn't quite clear. It didn't seem like their was a beginning or an end.
Gone Girl (2014)
It's all over the place!
I love a good Thriller, and when theirs a really good one, it's a smart movie for the people who analyze the movie and didn't see the end coming, and continues to make you think. This movie falls way behind in that category. Really? Ben couldn't have just walked out? Court order for DNA of the "Baby"? Their are so many holes on how she tried to frame him, I could rate this as Swiss cheese. It was interesting at times, and you did want to see what happens next. However that lead to a anticlimactic ending. It's to bad it had a lot of potential.
