The Magnificent Eleven (2013)
A good movie to watch with beer in hand :)
I'm not sure why this movie has got poor reviews and poor ratings on IMDb, I actually enjoyed the movie very much. Its a movie about a soccer gang who are down on their luck in terns of finance and thus need sponsorship and they find an Indian family that run a not so profitable looking restaurant to sponsor them. Some of the dialogues are well written but there were instance of poor acting and generally over acting specially by the main villain who acted more like Clint Eastwood in the 60's.. Overall a movie you might want to watch only if you are feeling bored and want a bit of entertainment. Its a good fun and somewhat entertaining movie even though it has random male nudity, if you ignore that, its probably a good movie to watch.
The LXD: The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers (2010)
Something very unique
When i first saw a DVD of this show at my local video shop (season 1), I wasn't really interested but when i saw what the storyline was and who all the casts were on the internet, i came back the very next day and bought the DVD. This is probably one of the best series i have seen in a while. I was so intrigued that i even started to pick actors i had seen previously on Step Up 2 and Step Up 3D as well as finding out about the new upcoming dance stars. There is barely any dialogue in the whole series but that is probably the best thing about it because it tells a story not through words, but through music and dance. I have been impressed by the director, Jon Chu before (Step Up series) but this is a whole new level of entertainment. Those that enjoyed the Step up series as well as the TV Series, "So You Think You Can Dance" would really enjoy this series. Its a 10/10 from me.
Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke (2010)
Good movie from a first time actor !!
When this movie began, I thought I would get bored for the next 2+ hours but sincerely, I didn't expect this movie to be so freakin' good !!. First of all I would like to congratulate Rahul Aggarwal. I wish new upcoming actors learn from him because he was exceptional in the movie. Other supporting actors such as Paresh Rawal, Om Puri and Ravi Kishan also performed well and Narayani Shastri did make a good debut into the big screen. The best thing about Rahul was that his facial expression remained very much the same throughout the movie. He did not try to over do it like the current batch of actors we have today. Alok Upadhyay should also be congratulated for writing this movie. It was hilarious from the start to the finish and there was minimum overacting by the supporting cast. Shweta Salve's item number was pretty good as well and Om Puri and Paresh Rawal were pretty hilarious at times. Ravi Kishan continues to show us why he is one of the better actor in India and overall all I can say is this movie should do pretty well at the box office. I'll give this movie a 9/10 (bollywood standard) for lifting the standard of comedy in Bollywood.
Om Shanti Om (2007)
A movie unique in its essence !! (may contain spoilers)
I expected this movie not to be as big as "Saawariya" but when I saw it, I was totally dumbstruck as to its storyline. Newcomer Deepika showed that she is bollywood material and Mr Abs.Shahrukh showed why he is Bollywoods most versatile actor being able to play multitudes of roles. A dance sequence in this movie has nearly 30 Top bollywood actors past and present showing up and dancing alongside SRK. The movie starts on like the 70's type of movies but with its simplicity and touch of class by King Khan, for a moment you will feel like you are in the 70's disco era ..Some graphics and editing was near semi-perfect for a Hollywood movie and this movie does make fun of the yesteryear's dance and fight sequence. Kiron Kher's acting was just amazing and she has yet again proved her stage-acting days did do her good...Shreyas talpade proved that he can take unique roles like he did in "Iqbaal" and "Dor" and was one of the outstanding actors in the movie..There is a lot of hilarity in the movie, as you would expect in any Farah Khan movie and minor performances by 'Akshay Kumar' and 'Abhishek Bahchcan' are hilarious..not to mention the baddie of the movie did do himself good by signing up for this movie. Shahrukh's second movie of the year and also undoubtedly the second biggest hit as well (after Chak-De)..The film is just over 3 hours long but is worth watching every minute..Its a great Family Movie and deserves to be in contention of the Best Movie of the Year, Deepika has a really Bright future since her performance was exceptional and directors have already started knocking at her door..Believe me this movie is really that good and if you go to see this movie in the theaters, you wont be disappointed..One of the best bollywood movies I have seen by far !!!
