  • A Modern Classic!

When I was leaving the cinema, I was confused & disturbed by the stories that I just heard, but I felt that Yousry Nasrallah's vision of cinema is a beam of light in the darkness of nowadays movies. Stories very deep & moving told smoothly with a style you miss in most Egyptian movies. Written by the Veteran "Wahid Hamed" & acted by a fierce group of new actresses & actors with the lead of a woman of impressive acting capabilities , probably the best actress of her age "Mona Zaki" & the great "Mahmoud Hemida". An instant classic with the taste of the modern cinema reminds me of the late Youssef Chahine, would make your head spin with the shocking reality about women in Egypt nowadays. No other movie in the last few years affected me like this one.

  • Deep & Moving!

Not since Youssef Chahine's masterpieces was there any Egyptian movies with such perfection! It's a shame! Yeah, But that's the truth! Anyway, 2009 is very promising with "One-Zero" as a start. A well knitted very complicated story about 8 characters living in the modern Cairo, suffering from it's corruption, religious taboos , hypocrisy & repression. 8 with very different backgrounds in a very stressful day & then connected with happiness in the end when Victory is achieved. An incredible story told with a unique style, although it kept reminding my of Inarritu's masterpiece "Babel" it's still a genuine Egyptian story. Two Thumbs Up!

  • Great movie, Excellent acting!!!

I watched this movie last night in the 30th Cairo international film festival & I can simply say it is a great movie with excellent casting. Although, it is an independent movie with low budget but still it is an extraordinary movie. This movie is politically correct as it shows how the media affects the recently fired Terry Allen(Krause) who does nothing in his life but watching the news so he starts feeling suspicious about the new neighbor Gabe Hassan (Abu Elnaga) & his strange attitude, he tries to convince his wife & the F.B.I agent (Schiff) that their neighbor is up to something bad but he fails, so he decides to interrogate him himself!!! Almost everything in the movie was great; although the pace sometimes was sometimes slow & the very bad cinematography. The real star in this movie was Khaled Abu El Naga where this movie is his 1st outside Egypt but he proved to be a perfectionist & I think Krause & Abu El Naga made 2 Oscar performances but I think none of them would receive a nomination. Anyway am sure anyone who is concerned with Arabs rights or even justice in world would love this movie. 9/10
