Like most people I know, who play Dungeons & Dragons, when I saw the trailer, I got PTSD flashbacks to the Halo tv show, the Uncharted movie, pixels movie and so on. The first thought that went through my head was "oh boy, here we go again"
Now, my rating, which lands on an 8 for me, if I already wasn't a fan of Dungeons & Dragons would probably more be around the 7, 6 if i had to be really critical. I don't see this movie as a great "re-watch" movie. It's one of those you watch, you have a good experience, and then you move on. Good with snacks and friends, very typical, it kind of feels like a Marvel movie in a way it's structured and the beats the plot goes through as you move through it. It doesn't really surprise you a whole lot, but thats fine, and it's not gory or anything, unlike most of the D&D campaigns I've gone through, so kids can watch this fine, and I think the age 8+ is around what its aiming for, which is fine. Though personally to watch a realistic D&D campaign in a movie with splitting people in half, guts flying everywhere, shagging every NPC you meet as a bard, that would've been great. But perhaps we'll have to wait for the future to see such a thing.
Most of the jokes didn't land super hard, mostly just enough to get some air out of my nose, but nothing major. Only two jokes landed for me where I laughed out loud, but that's fine for a movie which is this "vanilla" in it's story telling and content.
So as i mentioned, if you haven't heard of D&D, you would probably find this movie to be a 7/10, maybe a 6. If you don't like fantasy, then why are you reading this? Now if you do like D&D and is capable of having an open mind, then it might be a 7 as well or an 8 like it was for me, or even a 9. This isn't a 10/10 movie and don't let anyone tell you it is. And if you are a hardcore D&D fan and you give this movie a 1 or a 2, then go back to reddit, cause you don't know how to rate movies beyond your own personal feelings.
All in all, pretty good movie, I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I had a really good time with it. Would I watch it again? Probably not, unless with friends, beer, pizza, and some D&D.

It's supposed to be a comedy. I didn't laugh once.
I'm Danish, but i'm writing this in English so as many people can avoid this as possible.
We rented this movie online expecting two known skit-comedy actors to actually make a decent movie, but what it ended up as was a depressing sad tale that made you feel uncomfortable and want to stop watching. I'm guessing it's a great lesson of why not to join a swinger club.
Even some of the worst cliché run of the mill Danish comedy movies will make you laugh twice as much as i did watching this, which isn't saying a whole lot considering the previous statement that I didn't laugh once.
I recommend a slew of other comedies over this, even if you've already watched them, it's better to re-watch those movies a hundred times than to sit through this.
Don't watch this film.
The two stars I give for the camera work, audio, lighting, editing and acting.
But when your story completely fails to achieve what you set out to do, ae, make a comedy, and ends up giving the opposite reaction.

There are literal thousands of movies that would be a better choice than this. If you actually watch this and enjoy it, you're what's wrong with this world.
