The Island is different from other films by Michael Bay. Yes, it's an action movie and some scenes are very well directed. But first of all, The Island is a rare example of a not badly created dystopia with a confined space. And the main thing here is that the main characters leave the controlled society very quickly. Of course, most of the events here look impossible. And it's not about growing people. And in the unreal luck of the main characters. Well, plus The Island in the cast, in other Bay movies there are usually much less of them. I turned on The Island while watching the first season of Silo. And I got exactly what I wanted.
Non-Stop is a good chamber thriller. In 2014, the topic with similar films starring Liam Neeson had not yet had time to get bored. Non-Stop has a strong cast, Juliana Moore's performance is great. Suspense works almost the entire film, only the first third of the film falls in terms of dynamics, personally for me. The development of the plot is not the fastest way. Of course, if the final part of the movie wasn't something of a fantasy, then Non-Stop would be better. The final action scenes destroy the whole atmosphere of the film. Non-Stop can still be attributed more to trippers than to action movies. And it's a good thriller. You can advise everyone to watch it.
Ghosts of Mars is a classic film from John Carpenter at the end of his directorial career. It's just a trash movie for its fans. If we objectively consider Ghosts of Mars, it's a mediocre action movie and an even more terrible horror. Don't take Ghosts of Mars seriously. Everything you need for such a movie is here. It's sad how suddenly in the 21st century, John Carpenter's career went down sharply. On the other hand, the budget is minimal for Hollywood action movies. But in general I liked Ghosts of Mars, such films were made only in the 90s and early 20s. You can watch it only if you like Carpenter's work.
