I don't even know how to fully express all of the ways that this movie wasn't good.
Whoever's idea it was to take characters that are supposed to be in their 20's and 30's and age them up to their 60's and 70's needs to be fired.
Also, whoever keeps hiring Ariana Greenblatt, needs to be fired. She is awful. In everything.
The special affects were comical, I've genuinely seen better in early 2000's films.
Then let's talk about the costuming!! What the actual heck!? Did the budget for this movie just go straight into the directors and producers pockets? Because it definitely wasn't used on the actual film itself.

I watched Zac Bagans Demon House and found the story very interesting, so of course whenever I heard that there was a movie actually being made I was so exited! Seeing Glenn Close gave me hope and then.... Christians happened. The story had so much potential, the actual events that happened to the Ammons family were terrifying, but instead they decided to turn it into some weird, cringey Religious Ad. "If you don't believe in God enough you'll be an addict, hit your children and get possessed by demons". It's a shame because the little boy did such a great job, and it actually had a few creepy moments, but by the time all was said and done it ended up being an overly religious blaxploitation film more than anything. So disappointing.
If you've ever peacefully been living your life and thought "you know what would be great right now? A privileged, undereducated, yt male with absolutely no real life experience explaining to me why women deserve to get hit and that the rules of society should not apply to attractive people" then you've found the special for you.
The worst part of the entire thing is that half of the jokes he took from popular memes and Twitter threads aren't even funny! At no point does he use that pink little wad of bubblegum in his brain to even slightly attempt to put together a relatable story or set up a decent punch line. If you remember being in the hell that is a Middle School Lunch room, and remember the little boys desperately attempting to gain attention by being offense, thats this.
