Mulan (2020)
One of the best Disney live action remakes to date.
This is not an exact copy of the animated movie we all love but it does manage to make this live action worth your while. The best part about this story,I think is the dynamic between Liu Yifei and Tzi Ma,acted gracefully and and touching.
The Big Lebowski (1998)
Funny and confusing, Bridges gives the audience a singular character
Funny and confusing, Bridges gives the audience a singular character, leaving him in-the-know of pop culture for years to come. The plot, while ambigious and confusing, gives a good time of laughs and enjoyable music and cinematography.
Before Sunrise (1995)
This is just amazing in every aspect.
This is just amazing in every aspect. The dialog flows so smoothly and it seems so real that it's magic. It makes one believe that two people can really be in love with the purest of intentions.
Trainspotting (1996)
One of the great black comedies of all time.
Plays off like a reimagining of Requiem for a Dream with a dash of Eraserhead's surrealism, a heaping helping of humor, and a pumping pop soundtrack. One of the great black comedies of all time, patently unafraid to actually make you laugh and cringe in equal measure, developing a portrait of addiction through memorable characters, engaging storylines, and striking visuals, all aimed at establishing the bleak depths that its characters inhabit and the inescapable nature of their plight.
The Thing (1982)
A classic, a movie very ahead of its time, the practical effects are outstanding for a movie made in 1982.
The plot is very well made, as it's up to the audience to figure out the mystery of who got infected, no cliches at all, not your standard horror film. The acting is outstanding as well. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to watch a classic, and smart movie.
The Truman Show (1998)
Good pacing, great characters and phenomenal story.
This is a sweet and enjoyable movie connected with other amazing side elements.
Babam ve Oglum (2005)
The father son relationship is beautifully captured.
A very emotional film about a man who returns back to his village home with his kid.
V for Vendetta (2005)
A great thought-provoking film on how corrupt societies can be rescued by the people.
A great thought-provoking film on how corrupt societies can be rescued by the people. Nice acting and decent action films. The heavy symbolism and poetic justice may be much for some, but the film still stands with its plot.
Shutter Island (2010)
The first half of this movie is amazing but the second half of this movie was mediocre.
I understand some of the complaints with the script among other things, but it's undeniable that Scorsese has a vision that DiCaprio brings to life quite well. I feel that this was DiCaprio's best performance working with Scorsese at the time.
No Country for Old Men (2007)
This movie is a classic and great to watch multiple times!
The Coens let the movie speaks out about itself, without interfering in the characters profoundness, they just tell their story as thrillingly and as ingeniously as they possibly could.
Inside Out (2015)
This is so much more than just a kids movie - its message and themes will resonate more with adults.
It touches on human emotion, change, coming-of-age, and family. It's a bold, heartfelt, and gorgeously-animated film with a fantastically unique premise and well-fleshed out and emotional characters. The voice cast is superb and fit their respective characters perfectly.
Warrior (2011)
Great movie
The overall premise was maybe a little too unrealistic in my mind, but the compelling characters and overall story made this a great movie.
Finding Nemo (2003)
A lovely movie with stunning visuals and great characters and writting.
"Finding Nemo" in my opinion is a great Pixar film with incredible characters and an engaging story, that is beautifully executed. Overall it is a pretty good effort.
Room (2015)
A powerful, tender, and ultimately life-arrirming story.
Heart breaking and realistic look at a case involving kidnapping.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
Kill Bill isn't for everyone, it isn't a movie that you can take serious, just enjoy it.
Uma Thurman bring us her second best role, next to Mia Wallace, and all the fights and combats are incredibles and ubelievable! One of Tarantino's best.
Gran Torino (2008)
Certainly not a movie that would be made now
Certainly not a movie that would be made now, but has plenty of charm despite the apparent flaws of the main character.
Salinui chueok (2003)
Masterful crafted and acted.
Every scene bursts with chaos and purpose, and expertly crowded with an ensemble cast all doing their own thing simultaneously, and doing it well. It's a shame more directors don't take notes.
Relatos salvajes (2014)
Comedy doesn't get much blacker than this!
Wild Tales is outrageously entertaining and takes things to absolute extremes in unforgettable ways. A few of these short stories bring in extra elements to the film, such as themes of social class, system unfairness and corruptness. As a result, these stories are more thought-provoking and psychologically intriguing and are among my personal favourites. Highly recommended viewing!
Klaus (2019)
This movie is ABSOLUTELY beautiful!
It's a MUST watch! It's full of love, heartfelt, fun, and exciting! The animation is LOVELY as it brings life throughout this movie. Makes me smile hours after watching. I wanted to cry in certain parts with joy.
Andhadhun (2018)
"Andhadhun" is undeniably unforgettable.
"Andhadhun" is a darkly comic, gripping and utterly unpredictable thriller that marks a new high for Bollywood Cinema.
Mary and Max. (2009)
Mary and Max is an absolutely incredible and unique film, from it's animation style to it's script to it's character design.
It's tale of friendship is not only a heartwarming one but also one that is told in an unusual but charming way, with loads of little details that just add to the homemade feel of the film. It also gives a look into mental health issues and knows when to take itself seriously and doesn't undermine some of the most powerful moments with comedy.
Hacksaw Ridge (2016)
Hacksaw Ridge will be a fantastic time in your life, it will help you realize the positive & wide angle view's of life.
From simple struggles of life to giving your best shot in everything you do, and the kind of impact that is generated out of it. Movie is an Army setup which will move you patriotically. Hacksaw Ridge will teach you a lot more than you expect from a movie. A big salute to the life of Pfc.
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
A true gem.
Personally The Grand Budapest Hotel is the first Wes Anderson film i see, and i fell in love with it, and I'm definitely going to see more Wes Anderson films in the future, from the cinematography, color palette, and dialogue The Grand Budapest Hotel is truly fantastic, it made me laugh many times and the story is just amazing, the characters were played by the perfect people, specially M.
Portrait de la jeune fille en feu (2019)
Fabulous use of silence.
Gorgeous. It's slow... it's French, but the characters are so intense their silence speaks volumes.
Logan (2017)
One of the best and darkest superhero films of all time.
The acting is really good, the action is really good, the effects are really good, the story is really good, and the screenplay is really good. This movie is just really good. I think it's a must see, though while I don't think it's a flaw, it's very violent
