Murphy's Law (1986)
God give me strength...
This film is unintentional slapstick at its finest and definitely funnier than Police Academy. Basically only to be endured when drunk, otherwise permanent brain damage could result...
Bronson obviously needed the money badly, otherwise he would hardly have let himself be persuaded to do this ham-fisted comedy.
Even the crazy snotty brat plays Bronson to the wall here, and her performance is in itself an insult to the innocent viewer. Not to mention all the other clowns and cardboard dummies who appear in this acted joke.
Charles, at any rate, would definitely have earned himself a whole year's crop of golden razzies with this performance.
The English (2022)
Confusing nonsense
Simply ridiculous. Maybe I'm too stupid to understand this charade, but every time it gets halfway exciting, everything is ruined again with unnecessary flashbacks. Yes, it's beautifully photographed but that's it. Blunt with her botox wrinkle doesn't make it any better. The whole thing is just a huge disappointment. You have to ask yourself who dared to put their money into this probably not entirely cheap production on the basis of this lousy script. Respect for that! One could just as well have played roulette, as the chance of a return on investment would have been much greater. All in all, a disaster and an absolute imposition for the interested viewer.
Mid90s (2018)
Poor man's KIDS
Well, it was already well known that Hill is only a mediocre actor at best and now we have proof that he can't direct either.
This pseudo social study is kind of embarrassing from someone who was born with a golden spoon in his mouth.
And what exactly knows this clown about the 90's anyway, he was born in 83!
But anyway, this silly little wannabe art movie is predictable from start to finish.
First they build up sympathy for the little guy and then show that he is actually not much better than the usual losers from the skater crew.
Hobby social pedagogue Jonah should only concentrate on surfing in the future - no one needs something as superfluous as this film to be happy.
Honest Thief (2020)
Unintentional slapstick
This is the kind of film where even 50 cent would have run screaming after reading the script.
Neeson, however, doesn't seem to mind ruining his former good reputation and making a complete fool of himself for a few measly dollars.
This whole charade is so catastrophic that it is on the one hand embarrassing and on the other hand hilarious.
So if you like unambitious slapstick, you should definitely watch this rubbish.
Maybe Neeson should open a pub in Ireland instead of continuing to traumatise us with such performances, because he does much less damage when tapping beer.
Actually, one should sue for damages due to mental and moral confusion if one has watched this film to the end.
The Tourist (2022)
Lame...
...and somehow boring. Tries to be clever with little success. You simply are never really interested where the main character comes from and where he will end up. I have never been to Australia but even there the police can hardly be so incompetent and ignorant apart from, of course, the unrealistic do-gooder Helen Chambers... The rest of the characters are also uninteresting and remain superficial. There are certainly much better alternatives, such as Fargo, which has already been mentioned several times in other comments. So do yourself a favor and don't even start watching this hillbilly charade...
Killerman (2019)
Mixed experience
Well meant but lacks on too many levels and serves too many cliches... The score is great though and reminded me of Michael Mann's Thief. And Hemsworth was surprisingly more than ok I give him that they should offer him more parts in gangster flicks. Zlatko Buric as creepy uncle is a highlight and a proper villain. Some nice shots of the NYC scenery as well. These cops came across ridiculously over top though. All in all a mixed experience but there's way worse out there of course even if you will probably forget this one 5 minutes after you finished watching it but if you don't expect too much and like the genre in general it's alright.
Exit (2019)
Nice comedy entertainment
Well if you know American Psycho and The Wolf of Wall Street or even such clowns in reality already this is nothing groundbreaking new. It definitely has its funny moments especially when it comes too their silly wifes who are completely lost without their husbands money. Funny stuff!
The Good Liar (2019)
Nonsense
Starts out well and could have been a great sort of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels funny crime flick but suddenly turns into this exhausting nazi/rape drama without need. Disappointing.
En thérapie (2021)
Give it a go if you're looking for something different
The first season is absolutely great because of the circumstances (Bataclan) and the relationships between some of the characters. Unfortunately, the second season can't quite keep up the high standard due to the less interesting characters and the annoying Covid environment. Nevertheless, the series is absolutely worth watching and something different.
Motherless Brooklyn (2019)
Quite alright
Has some great Chinatown / Angel Heart vibes but stays a bit disappointing after all. Great cast, massive soundtrack and cool location design but it simply doesn't drag you in somehow and could have been much better with a tighter storyline. But anyway, there's much worse out there of course!
Wallander (2008)
Neatly boring
But at least it's a quite excellent over-the-counter sleeping pill because nothing ever happens and dull Wallander makes it even worse. You can be happy if you survived this without becoming depressed or even deranged.
Little Joe (2019)
Kubrick for the very poor...
Wants to look and feel like Kubrick but just comes across like one of Winding Refn's less successful attempts because it's just dull and pointless. And yes, like many times mentioned before, the score is an absolute torture.
Doctor Sleep (2019)
Horror? Yes indeed...
...for all the wrong reasons though. It has the look and feel of some painfully boring mystery tv show. Watched about an hour and decided to stop because I simply didn't care how this unnecessary nonsense continues which says it all I guess.
Yardie (2018)
Oh dear...
Well it's obvious Elba can't act and here we got the proof he can't direct as well... This grotesque charade is predictable from start to finish but at least the music is fine and the only reason I've endured this nonsense from start to finish.
The Fall (2013)
Neatly boring
Even this probably shows pretty realistic police work it's just lame... They better would have told this story in a 90 minute TV movie instead of expanding it over 3 seasons in a show. No recommendation if you prefer to get entertained or even thrilled.
Ava (2020)
I've seen worse
Don't get why this is lower rated than Red Sparrow, Atomic Blonde and all this Luc Besson crap... It's actually the same with much better actors though.
Schneller als die Angst (2022)
Cliché overload
Wants to be edgy and cool but is just predictable nonsense. And the director is obviously a big fan of Tony Scott what makes his camera work hard to endure. So do yourself a favor and don't even start this charade in 6 parts watching...
Salinui chueok (2003)
God give me strength...
Watching a bunch of dumb rowdy policemen trying to catch a serial killer without success for over two hours was kinda funny... They should rename this comedy into Korean Police Academy.
El Clan (2015)
Interesting case...
...horribly implemented. But the worst part is the soundtrack. Who in god's name had the idea to play just a gigolo during a kidnapping scene?! God give me strength...
The Capture (2019)
Good lord!
If only the plot was ridiculous and totally unrealistic you could say well that was soso entertainment let's forget about it. But it's the lousy, dull and wooden actors (except for Perlman) what makes this show an overall horrible and annoying experience... So do yourself a favor and don't even start watching because the first episode is the best by far.
The Hero (2017)
Liked this
Has a bit of a Terrence Malick vibe to it in a good way... The story offers nothing groundbreaking new but all in all it feels pretty authentic and real and the actors are all great without exception.
Guilt (2019)
An unexpected surprise...
...and a very pleasent one. Best crime show I've seen in quite a while, hope there's more to come very soon.
The Editor (2014)
This movie really is something else
Expected absolutely zero and was pleasantly surprised... They created something pretty unique with inspiration from De Palma and Carpenter. I liked it and I'm not even into Horror/Splatter stuff.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
God give me strength...
This is the most ridiculous piece of thrash I've seen in a long time. Stupid and predictable from beginning to the end. Ok you know you can't always expect quality from Stallone but this is simply ridiculous. The last Rambo was surprisingly ok but this one has nothing to do with the original character anymore. And of course he couldn't let it be and had to ruin the brand Rambo for a couple of cheap bucks. Pretty sad actually.
Ready or Not (2019)
About as creepy as American Pie
Nice comedy entertainement for teenagers no more or less...
