I'm at a loss as to why they thought this would be a good idea. The stooges era pretty much ended by the early 50's . The whole slapstick physical comedy that they had made their own was now old hat. Moe and Larry are now in their 60's and Curly Joe who couldn't hold a candle to either Curly or Shemp is now the lame 3rd stooge. It's very painful to watch - Moe was pushing 70 and Larry was in his 60's and Curly Joe in his 50's and the network not wanting violence had them acting like idiots with nothing to work with but stupid skits during the live action segments. Moe would occasionally introduce a cartoon but the recycled live action dialog had people shutting off their TV's thinking they had seen this before. And the cartoons were just awful - they obviously didn't have the budget for decent animators or the animators were just lazy with the generic low grade stick figure type animation. And the cartoons plots always had the stooges doing the same thing at the end - running away or stuck in a precarious situation without a resolution. Like one episode had them stuck in trees with a lion stalking them as the episode ended. Total garbage .
