  • Not Scary but Still Awesome

Badlands is a wild ride-visually slick, tightly paced, and surprisingly fun. It doesn't try to mimic the originals, and that's exactly why it works. Instead of lurking horror or jungle-based survival terror, this one leans into something else entirely: fast, bold, and a little offbeat.

But here's the catch: if you're expecting classic Predator vibes-creepy tension, gory kills, hardcore suspense-you might walk away confused. This isn't that kind of movie. It plays looser, louder, and with a whole different kind of energy.

Still, if you're open to the shift in tone, Badlands delivers. It's stylish, confident, and clearly made with a wink. For die-hard Predator fans, it may not scratch the usual itch-but if you just want to kick back and enjoy something slick and strange, this one's a blast.

  • The Band Shines - the Film Doesn't

I love this band-truly. They're raw, poetic, and absolutely one of a kind. Which is why it's so disappointing that the documentary meant to capture them just doesn't do them justice. Sure, it's informative, and yes, there are moments-live footage, musician interviews, a few emotional sparks-but the overall structure? Flat, linear, and honestly kind of dull.

The film feels like a patchwork: concert clips, talking heads, and a director who occasionally pops up, but never with a clear purpose. It's as if the idea was there, but the execution never quite found its rhythm. It lacks flow, lacks concept-and most of all, lacks the soul that defines the band itself.

As a fan, I still found moments to enjoy. But for a theatrical release? It's not enough. This could've been powerful, immersive, unforgettable. Instead, it feels like something that belongs on late-night TV, not in a cinema.

  • It Moves, It Entertains, It's Fine

It's always a treat to see something new from Paul Greengrass. His signature style-gritty, fast-paced, almost documentary-like. The film throws you right into the chaos, and in the first half, it absolutely works. Action and drama blend seamlessly, the performances are strong, and you really feel the heat.

But then... it drifts. Somewhere in the middle, the film loses its rhythm. Side plots creep in, the pacing wobbles, and that sharp focus from the start starts to fade. It's still watchable, but not nearly as tight or gripping as it could've been.

That said, there are moments that hit hard, and the film is clearly made with care. It doesn't reinvent anything, but it delivers enough intensity to keep you engaged-if you're patient. Not a total knockout, but definitely worth the ride. Just don't expect it to stay in high gear the whole way through.
