A visual feast. Shows the lives of modern Cubans living in Havana during their daily routines. The music is wonderful and the editing is superb. There is no dialogue, the director relies on visual images along with some explanatory titles to tell the tale. A minimalist approach that works incredibly well!
Roger Avary's adaptation (or interpretation) of Bret Easton Ellis' novel THE RULES OF ATTRACTION. A fascinating look at a love triangle on the campus of Camden College where self-absorption seems to be universal and education of minimal interest to the students. The short scene detailing the European vacation of one of the characters is one of the best-edited ever!
A wonderful tour de force performance by Katy Jurado playing an elderly writer who has lived and played hard and known many of the prominent artists and writers of her era. This was Jurado's final performance and in many respects her best!
