When something like Wolverine Loves Batman grosses a billion dollars and Horizon cannot find an audience, all hope is lost for adult, serious cinema.
Costner has created a masterpiece. Every single detail is crafted exquisitely. The film is the most beautiful I've seen in years. The score is majestic. The production design is award worthy.
It is NOT slow moving, and anyone who feels that way must have the attention span of a flea. There are a lot of characters to follow, but if you go on their journey, you won't regret it. This film deserves a slew of Oscar nominations, but will it get them? If not, there is no reason to take the awards seriously ever again.
Do yourself a favor. Stream this outstanding epic. And let's hope that Costner gets the entire saga filmed and out there. Did I love it? Uh, yeah.

Hands down one of the best films of 2023. Performances across the board are terrific. Every actor has a chance to shine- and shine they do! Paul Giamatti is always great , but the find here is Dominic Sessa making his debut. The guy is spectacular. He is so darned convincing as a 17 year old kid - and Da'Vine Joy Randolph is perfect; their performances are truly amazing. Her gestures and facial expressions and Sessa's gangly walk and slouch are all perfect. He deserves an Oscar nomination - and, in fact, he should head the list. He is on his way to a great career. Da'Vine Joy should also be remembered come Oscar time. However, even the smaller parts are beautifully played. Even the other holdover kids are top notch. The original screenplay is one of best in years. It's funny, heartfelt, and above all, surprising. Just when you think you have it figured out, it takes a turn. So good. Alexander Payne has done it again.
