For those in search of a thrilling action flick sprinkled with characters possessing unique "abilities," this film might just be your perfect match. However, if you're a die-hard Spiderman aficionado, you might want to steer clear.
In this iteration, Kraven is portrayed more as an antihero, or perhaps even a reluctant hero, as he battles against a slew of villains-ranging from ruthless animal poachers to drug traffickers. The film hints at his time spent with animals, suggesting a deeper connection that elevates their worth above that of humans in his eyes. This bond is likely shaped by his troubled upbringing, which offered him a rather bleak perspective on humanity.
I found the experience enjoyable overall. The depiction of animals and action sequences was surprisingly well-executed, avoiding the pitfalls of poor CGI. If the film is receiving negative feedback, it likely stems from Russell Crowe's questionable Slavic accent and any inconsistencies with the established Spiderman lore. Thankfully, it manages to avoid the pitfalls that plagued Morbius.
