Not sure why no one is saying anything, but this is literally the Korean adult version of the Hunger Games. It's excessive and unoriginal. I've yet to figure out what the hype is over this series. As someone who enjoys dystopian novels and films, this doesn't feel unique. I really feel like they updated this to reach a specific age range and demographic. It's definitely not for the masses and from everything I've seen online, most people are missing the social and economic points being made. Again, no different from the hunger games being fluffed as YA romance. Save yourself the trauma of the excessive slayings and go outside.
Four city guys go to an empty farm to become weekend farmers. What could go wrong?! Lol. This was by far one of the funniest reality/variety shows I've seen. The group have great chemistry and you can see they're friends off camera as well. We watched them as they attempted prepping, farming, and harvesting and the entire time we offered help with colorful yelling at the tv to match their colorful outfits! It was fun and I sincerely hope they have a second season. Their antics alone were worth it. Plus it was fun to see how they cook and what they ate and how they felt about the framing processes as a whole. The lack of steady cameras was often disorienting but other than that this was a great show!
As an EXO-L I was excited to see Suho as the main actor in a K-drama. After watching it, I'm not sure why I was excited. He lacked any emotion and his acting is stoic or even robotic. As typical in some of these dramas the "older" actors were much better. The leading lady was such a joke, her crying scenes were the fakest yet. Between her and Suho there was no chemistry. The grand prince had more acting chops but even he paled in comparison to the king, queen dowager, and head physician. Overall I only finished watching this series to say I did and to see it to the end. Each week I forgot it was even on and was happy to watch anything else. A waste of time and I'm super disappointed. It's a good storyline, just poorly acted by the leads.
