Wow! A no nonsense gripping naval thriller that gets straight to the point and keeps you engaged and tense throughout. Although the character building of the captain and key crew members could have been more elaborated, Tom Hanks, a veteran when it comes to war films, as always did a brilliant job. The dialogue was intense, CGI special effects were spectacular, great music choreography, especially the eerily haunting music during the German U-boats scenes. The movie gave us a glimpse into WWII history and reminded us of how bravely our soldiers fought for our country and our freedoms. The ending was moving and left me feeling very patriotic.

I cannot believe all the good reviews on here. What the hell did I just watch....oh Mel...Mel...Mel...just stick to directing and producing love!.

I am a real Mel Gibson fan and was really looking forward to seeing him in this movie but it was a real let down, a lack-lustre film from start to finish and a total waste of my time!. Low budget films if produced well can be a great watch but this movie had absolutely zero suspense, poorly acted and a pathetic storyline with an end twist that I'd already figured out from the start. ' on the line'....more like 'career on the line' ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.

Tense, engaging and heart wrenching all at the same time. A truly inspiring story of human resilience, survival and an unbroken spirit.
