Lady Ballers (2023)
Not what I expected going in but....
So I thought this was going to be one of those movies with a "message" that was more preachy than entertaining. Oh boy was I wrong! There definitely was a message in that art does indeed imitate life but while this is certainly true in this movie, it also brings with it pure comedy gold. From start to finish it brought both the laughs and some serious thought provoking subjects going on in the real world. The comedy style was very reminiscent of the 90's or early 2000's where I was not to over the top to get you smiling, and the acting was great and didn't feel forced which shows that the cast was totally into and have a great time making this movie. If you're looking for an old school comedy with a fresh coat of pain for the modern day then this is the movie for you!
2025: Blood, White & Blue (2022)
Am I being punked?
I mean seriously, is this some sort of con or just really some bad satire? Let's put aside the obvious negative references to the actual 45th and focus on the film for what it is. The actors and actresses, if they can honestly be called that have little to zero ability which makes this film both sub par in the extreme and insulating to the viewer. The effects were a joke to the point that I started to feel as if they had bought all their equipment second hand from one of those strip mall Halloween places. The cinematography looked like it was all done with an iPhone camera, and not a current gen iPhone either but like an iPhone 7. A few times I was genuinely scared I was having a seizure by how erratic the filming was. It's a shame that fan made YT content can offer more then this sorry excuse for a film.
For no other reason was this made but to highlight certain opinions shared by many for the real 45th. It's messages like this, so blatantly portrayed in this film, that will keep people divided and angry and in the end do more harm then good. Congratulations guys on being part of the problem and for what? A few bucks, trash ratings, a spot on IMDB, and fanning the flames of division through inflammatory lies... Good job!
Prey (2022)
A franchise renewed
They really went back to basics with this recent installment in the Predator franchise. It's new, exciting, and breaths new life into a series that was all but dead. The director, producers, and actors worked hard to stay faithful to the Comanche spirit with the small touches that add realism and believability to the film. This was an all around great movie and an enjoyable experience that I highly recommend to others who might be think this is just another B rated Predator flick.
3000 Layla (2015)
A failed attempt at best.
I guess the bar for propaganda isn't very high anymore...
This movie was intentionally made to support a one sided narrative while utterly demonizing the other side. Even the movie alone for it cinematography isn't even worth the time it takes to get through the opening credits. No, this is just another agenda pushing piece poorly disguised as artistic expression in the hopes of garnering support, for which many will inevitably fall for no doubt.
See You Yesterday (2019)
Another one of those...
Oh look, it's another one of those movies that try to cash in on the current division of the country. It's no wonder we as a society can't come together as one when we have so many why try to make a profit on us staying split apart.
As for the movie itself, utter garbage! It's very reminiscent of a high school drama/arts project that earned its creator a D- at best. With so many well written, directed, and put together indi films currently out there to choose from, save yourself the time and frustration and give this one a big pass.
Who Is Amos Otis? (2020)
Not even worth it for free....
In the words of the President that this movie is purely about, fake news and more lies. Case in point, go look up the Pulitzer nominations and you'll quickly see what I'm talking about.
Cowboy Bebop (2021)
It ain't the anime but....
So this live action adaptation won't ever stack up to the anime but as a faithful reinterpretation it does a really great job. The actors put a ton of heart into their characters, the sets are Superbly re-created, and the musical score is just how the anime fan remember it! So don't judge it based on Cowboy Bebop but understand that it's simply Cowboy Bebop 2.0 produced for old and new fans alike.
