Terrifier 3 (2024)
The Terrifier Franchise is Still on the Right Track
In Terrifier 3, everything deserves praise. The story and the themes it deals with, performance of the cast, especially the ones of LaVera and Thornton, direction, screenplay, soundtrack, emotional weight, visual and sound effects, which are considered to be amazing compared to the film's low budget, extreme violence and gore, cinematography, and Christmas theme are all beyond excellent and deserve all praise.
The only flaw that I saw in the movie was that the story still hasn't ended, and we have to wait for Terrifier 4 to see the continuation, nothing more than this.
Terrifier 3 is one of the best slasher movies that I watched, and I am excited to the max to see what will happen in Terrifier 4. When it comes to the score, I gladly give Terrifier 3 9 out of 10.
Gladiator II (2024)
Good, but the First Movie is Better
In Gladiator II, there are a lot of things that deserve praise. The story, performances of the cast, visual and sound effects, soundtrack, emotional weight, direction, screenplay, cinematography, and ending, which may set up for a sequel in the future, are all very good, even better than I expected.
But are all these elements better than what we saw in the first movie? Answer is "no". No matter how much these elements are good in this installment, in all cases, they remain better in the original.
But does this mean that Gladiator II is considered much inferior to the first installment? Of course not. It remains a very good movie, and it deserves to be watched on the biggest screen in theaters. When it comes to the score, I give Gladiator II 8 out of 10.
Venom: The Last Dance (2024)
A Satisfying Conclusion
In Venom: The Last Dance, I praised a lot of things. The performances of the cast, especially, and of course, the one of Hardy, action sequences, visual and sound effects, comedic scenes, soundtrack, direction, screenplay, cinematography, emotional weight, and ending, were all very good, and I liked them so much.
But what I didn't like in Venom: The Last Dance is the story because it could have been better. It could have presented the villian Knull in a better way (I won't speak in more details here to avoid having spoilers in my review).
I liked Venom: The Last Dance and the way it ended Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock's story for now, and I am excited to see what there will be in the future. When it comes to the score, I gladly give Venom: The Last Dance 8 out of 10.
Smile 2 (2024)
At the Same Level of its Predecessor
Before I start talking about Smile 2, I must say that before the film was released, and before I saw its reviews, I was afraid that the movie would be a disappointment. But thank God, all of that didn't happen.
In Smile 2, everything was good. The performance of Scott, cinematography, creepy, tense, thrilling, suspenseful and frightening atmosphere, direction, screenplay, horror elements and jumpscares, soundtrack, and the 127 minutes runtime, which didn't have any moment of boredom, were all perfect and had nothing to be said against them, literally.
Regarding the flaws, the only flaw that I saw in the movie was the story because it is literally the same story as the first movie and didn't add anything new.
But this flaw won't prevent me from giving Smile 2 a high score because I liked it so much, and I am looking forward to see what more the franchise will have in the future. When it comes to the score, I gladly give Smile 2 9 out of 10.
Alien: Romulus (2024)
A Very Normal Movie
In Alien Romulus, many elements are good, but at the same time, they do not deserve high praise. The story, for example, is very normal because it does not have anything special, and it is nearly the same as previous installments. The same thing applies to direction, screenplay, horror elements, and ending. They are very normal, even less than normal.
But there are elements that deserve some praise like the performances of the cast, soundtrack, cinematography, and violence and brutality.
But even with these elements, Alien Romulus remains a very normal movie, and from my point of view, it does not deserve more than 5 out of 10.
Trap (2024)
One of the Best Movies of the Year
In Trap, everything deserves praise. The story, performance of Hartnett, which showed how clever Cooper is, direction, screenplay, short runtime, which did not have any minute of boredom, cinematography, suspense elements, soundtrack, comedic scenes, entertainment value, storytelling, and ending, are all perfect and do not have anything to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, to be honest, I did not notice any flaw in the movie. It is very rare to watch a movie like this one these days, and I hope that they make a sequel in the future. That is why when it comes to the score, with all glad, I give Trap 10 out of 10.
Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)
Nearly Exactly as Expected, but not Without Flaws
In Deadpool and Wolverine, I praised the story, performances of Raynolds and Jackman, direction, soundtrack, visual and sound effects, emotional weight in Logan's story, entertainment value, action scenes, comedic scenes and humor, breaking the fourth wall parts, and number of characters in the movie. All these were very good and I enjoyed them very much.
But what I didn't like in Deadpool and Wolverine is the screenplay, extremely complex and messy plot, and pacing because the plot seriously makes the person who is watching lost and in some scenes, does not know what exactly happened and why it happened.
But these flaws do not mean that I didn't enjoy Deadpool and Wolverine. I enjoyed it, and I am looking forward to see what the MCU will carry for Deadpool, Wolverine, and the X-Men in the future. When it comes to the score, I gladly give Deadpool and Wolverine 9 out of 10.
Longlegs (2024)
One of the Best Horror Movies of the Year
In Longlegs, I praised everything. The story and the themes it deals with, performances of Monroe and Cage, direction, screenplay, soundtrack, creepy, tense, thrilling, and terrifying atmosphere, cinematography, brutality and gore, horror elements, and visual and sound effects are all excellent and have nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, what I criticized in the movie was the very complex plot and the unclear ending. Other than that, as I said above, everything else was nearly flawless.
I enjoyed Longlegs very much, and I consider it one of the best horror movies that I watched this year. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give Longlegs 8 out of 10.
Despicable Me 4 (2024)
A Very Good Animation Movie
In Despicable Me 4, I praised everything. The story and the ideas it has, performances of the cast, comedic moments, entertainment value, action scenes, direction, screenplay, cinematography, soundtrack, ending, and short runtime, were all excellent and did not have any flaw.
Regarding the flaws, the only flaw that I saw in the movie was some confusing story elements and how the story was paced. Other than that, everything else was nearly flawless.
I enjoyed Despicable Me 4 very much, and I am looking forward to see how the franchise will develop in the future. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give Despicable Me 4 9 out of 10.
A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)
One of the Best Drama and Horror Movies that I Watched
In A Quiet Place: Day One, I praised the themes that the story deals with, performances of the cast, especially the ones of Nyong'o and Quinn, emotional weight, soundtrack, direction, screenplay, visual and sound effects, tense and thrilling atmosphere, and cinematography. All of these were great and have nearly nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, it is true that I praised the themes that the story deals with, but at the same time, there are some elements that were not explained in the story, a thing which I didn't like.
But this flaw won't prevent me from giving a high score to A Quiet Place: Day One because I enjoyed it so much, and I am looking forward to see what the franchise will have in the future. When it comes to the score, I gladly give A Quiet Place: Day One 9 out of 10.
Inside Out 2 (2024)
Very Good, but the Previous Installment was Better
In Inside Out 2, I praised the story and the themes it deals with, additions to the first movie, performances of the cast, soundtrack, direction, screenplay, cinematography, emotional weight, comedic scenes, which were very good and exactly in their place, and ending, which literally entered my heart and made me feel how movies can really have emotional happy endings.
I also praised how in the movie, there are emotions, without spoilers of who they are, that are in the mind of Riley but still didn't take control because Riley is still a teenager, and these emotions do not appear until a later age, which points that there may be an installment that deals with these emotions in the future.
But what I didn't like in Inside Out 2 is that I thought the movie will be a huge improvement over its predecessor. But from my point of view, it wasn't. On the contrary, the first installment was better in some ways.
But this does not mean that I didn't enjoy Inside Out 2. I enjoyed it, and I am excited to see if the franchise will continue in the future. When it comes to the score, I give Inside Out 2 8 out of 10.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)
A Good, but not Very Good or Excellent, Movie
Before I start talking about The Strangers: Chapter 1, I must say that it is a very normal movie, nothing very special in it. The story, performances of the cast, screenplay, and soundtrack are very normal and have nothing very special about them.
Also, one of the flaws that I clearly noticed is the lack of violence, brutality, and gore.
But on the other hand, there are other elements that deserve some praise, like direction, creepy, tense, and thrilling atmosphere, mystery and horror elements, cinematography, emotional weight, and ending, which directly sets up for Chapter 2.
In general, I enjoyed The Strangers: Chapter 1, even though as I said, it is not one of the best horror movies that I watched, and I am excited to see what will happen in Chapter 2. When it comes to the score, I give The Strangers: Chapter 1 6 out of 10.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)
Good, but Inferior to the Previous Installment
In Bad Boys: Ride or Die, there are things that deserve praise, like the action and comedy scenes, direction, soundtrack, performances of Smith and Lawrence, cinematography, and ending.
But at the same time, there are things that are, at least from my point of view, inferior to the previous installment, like the story and the screenplay. Regarding the story, compared to Bad Boys for Life, it was of a lower level because it didn't have many surprises and twists like the previous one. And regarding the screenplay, the previous movie had a better screenplay than this one because the scenario and the order of events and how they are presented was a lot better, and cought the attention of the person who is watching more.
But this does not mean that I didn't like Bad Boys: Ride or Die. I liked it, and I am looking forward to see what more the franchise will have in the future. That is why when it comes to the score, I give Bad Boys: Ride or Die 7 out of 10.
Sting (2024)
A Horror Movie that is Different from the Horror Movies of these Days
In Sting, there are a lot of things that deserve praise. The story and the ideas in it, performances of the cast, especially the one of Browne, entertainment value, direction, screenplay, horror and comedy elements, violence and gore, visual and sound effects, short runtime, which literally did not have any minute of boredom, and ending deserve all praise and have nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, the only flaw that I saw in the movie was some story elements which were incomplete. Other than that, everything else was very good.
I enjoyed Sting, and according to what we saw in the ending, if there is a continuation to the story in the future, I am willing to see it and see what new ideas it will have. That is why when it comes to the score, I give Sting 8 out of 10.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
The Mad Max Saga is Still on the Right Path
In Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, I praised nearly everything. The story and the themes it deals with, storytelling, performances of the cast, especially the ones of Joy and Hemsworth, direction, visual and sound effects, action sequences, cinematography, violence, soundtrack, and ending are all excellent and have nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, from my point of view, I saw two flaws in the movie, first, some story elements which were overlapping and confusing, and second, the 148 minutes runtime, which was too long to some extent. If the movie's runtime was 120 minutes, like Mad Max: Fury Road, that would have been much better.
I liked Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and I am looking forward to see what the Mad Max franchise will have in the future. That is why when it comes to the score, I give Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga 8 out of 10.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
Better than the Previous Installment, but not Way Better
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is generally better than Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The story is more straight to the point. There is more entertainment value. The direction, screenplay, soundtrack, performances of the cast, action scenes, visual and sound effects, cinematography, and ending are better than the previous installment.
But the question is: Are they a lot better? Answer is "No". They are just "a little bit better", and there are some flaws also, like the lack of innovation, and some confusing story elements. This is the reason why, while I give Ghostbusters: Afterlife 6 out of 10, I give Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire 1 point more, which is 7 out of 10.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
One of the Best Movies that I Watched this Year
In Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, I praised nearly everything. The story, its depth and the themes it discusses, performances of the cast, direction, soundtrack, visual and sound effects, action scenes, cinematography, and ending, are all perfect and have nearly nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, I noticed only one flaw in the movie, which is the screenplay and how the story is organized, especially at the beginning of the movie. Other than that, everything else was very good.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is one of the best movies that I watched this year, and I am looking forward to see what the franchise has in the future. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes 9 out of 10.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey II (2024)
Better than the First Installment, but not so Much
In Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, there are some things that are better than the original. But despite that, the movie remains below normal rqgarding its level.
In the movie, I praised the story and the more elements and revelations it has than the original, visual and sound effects, which were a lot better than the first installment, screenplay, cinematography, and ending, which paves the way for the next films in the Twisted Childhood Universe.
But the other elements, like the performances of the cast, soundtrack, and direction were very normal, even below than normal. Even the elements that I praised, although they are better in this installment than the first one, they did not reach an excellent level like the movies of these days. That is why when it comes to the score, I give Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 5 out of 10.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)
The Definition of an Entertaining Movie
In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, everything deserves praise. The performances of the cast, especially the one of Hottle, soundtrack, cinematography, visual and sound effects, direction, screenplay, action sequences, and ending, are all great and have nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, the only flaw that I saw in the movie is the very simple story and some confusing story elements. Other than that, everything else was great.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is one of the best action movies that I watched this year. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire 9 out of 10.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
The Previous Installments are Better
In Kung Fu Panda 4, I praised the performances of the cast, some story elements, screenplay, and to some extent, the ending. Other than that, everything else, the story in general, direction, soundtrack, action and comedy scenes, production and entertainment value, and cinematography, were normal, even less than normal.
Also, I expected the movie to have more comedic scenes and to be more enjoyable. But unfortunately, that did not happen. I also felt that the movie is boring to some extent, and the runtime was a little bit long, even though it is less than 90 minutes without the credits.
Generally, I expected Kung Fu Panda 4 to be better than this. But as in the title, the previous installments are better. That is why regarding the score, I give Kung Fu Panda 4 6 out of 10.
The First Omen (2024)
A Very Good Religious Movie
In The First Omen, everything was excellent. The story and the themes it deals with, performances of the cast, direction, screenplay, soundtrack, cinematography, creepy, tense, and frightening atmosphere, ending, and the plot twist were all great and have nearly nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, the movie has some flaws, but it is not worth to concentrate on them, like the 120 minutes runtime, which from my point of view, was a little bit long, lack of scary scenes and jumpscares, and some story elements that were not so clear.
But as I said, these flaws are considered nothing in front of all the elements that were nearly perfect. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give The First Omen 9 out of 10.
Dune: Part Two (2024)
Like its Predecessor
In Dune Part Two, I praised everything. The story, performances of the cast, direction, screenplay, cinematography, visual and sound effects, especially the scenes that were shot in Wadi Rum, soundtrack, and ending all deserve all praise without any exception.
Regarding its flaws, what I didn't like is the 166 minutes runtime and some story elements which were not so clear and could not be linked to the story because of their unclarity.
But these elements do not mean that I didn't like Dune Part Two. On the contrary, I enjoyed it very much, and I am excited for the plans for the franchise in the future if there are ones. That is why when it comes to the score, I give Dune Part Two 8 out of 10.
Madame Web (2024)
Not as Bad as the Reviews Say About it
Madame Web is not as bad as people and critics say because it has a number of elements that deserve praise. The performance of Johnson, Sweeney, Merced, O'Connor, and Rahim, story, direction, screenplay, cinematography, and soundtrack, all deserve praise, even though they are not the best that can be seen in a superhero movie.
Regarding the flaws, what I didn't like is the visual and sound effects, action scenes, which were not so many, some confusing story elements, and the lack of connection to the spidermen characters
In general, I enjoyed Madame Web, even though it is not the best Marvel movie that can be seen these days. But at least, I see it better that Morbius. That is why when it comes to the score, I give Madame Web 7 out of 10.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
An Excellent and Enjoyable Movie, but not a Perfect Ending to the DCEU
In Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, everything was good and met expectations. The story, performances of the cast, action sequences, direction, screenplay, soundtrack, visual and sound effects, themes, cinematography, comedic moments, emotional weight, and the movie's ending were excellent and have nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, from my point of view, I found two flaws in the movie, the way it ended and the mid credits scene. Regarding the first flaw, as being the final film in the DCEU, the movie didn't give a good ending to this universe because it didn't actually finish any story of the DCEU superheroes, and regarding the second flaw, the scene didn't have any deep meaning in it. It was put just for comedy.
But these two flaws won't prevent me from giving a good score to Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom because I enjoyed it so much and didn't expect it to be of that level. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom 9 out of 10.
Thanksgiving (2023)
I am Excited for the Second Part From Now
In Thanksgiving, everything deserves praise. The story, performances of the cast, direction, screenplay, violence, gore, and brutality, soundtrack, jumpscares, horror elements, cinematography, and ending, which clearly points out that the story has not ended yet, since there is a sequel which is set to be released in 2025, are all excellent and have nothing to be said against them.
Regarding the flaws, to be honest, I couldn't find so much flaws in the movie, maybe except for one, which is that in some parts, narration was not so clear and made the person who is watching a littlebit lost. That's it, nothing more, no aby other flaw.
Thanksgiving is one of the best horror slasher movies that I watched this year, and I am excited for the sequel from now. That is why when it comes to the score, I gladly give Thanksgiving 9 out of 10.
