And Just Like That... (2021)
A 5 for the Clothes Only
25 years years ago everyone was watching SATC. These women are my contemporaries. I was in my 30s, living in LA and my life was far more interesting and fun and apart from the clothes, I just didn't get it.
Now I'm in my 50s living in rural England, life is a bit slower and I thought I would give this a try. Again apart from the clothes.... Yawn. There are a couple more interesting characters, mainly the women/people of colour. Otherwise it's just the same vapid boring conversations with a few topical things thrown in. An hour of catwalk would be preferable.
When I was in my 20-30s, my life was just a good time. Clothes, men, travelling, money. But I have evolved in the last 30 years. Why haven't these women? Why is Carrie still having issues with men? How do you not know yourself in your 50s? The teenagers are on the show are more interesting but even they are handed down the basic storylines.
Don't waste your time.
The Bubble (2022)
Ha!
Hey I don't think Judd Apatow was aiming for an Oscar. If you don't get this movie, you need to go to parody school. It certainly made me giggle! The Hollywood types, their vacant relationships and self inflated egos are perfect! So was Cliveden House. I've just booked afternoon tea there thanks to the movie. Thanks Judd!
Mayans M.C.: You Can't Pray a Lie (2021)
Complex
I love this season. Thera are complaints of the lack of action in this series, well not everything goes "boom". It has a few story lines, they're complex, filled with drama, love, and politics. A lo mejor no es para los mensos!
Halston (2021)
Beauty
The music, the fashion, the colour, the history, the scandal. All that was Halston. Magic.
Too Close (2021)
Very good
This is intense. In my opinion, those who don't like it are just looking for big explosions and gun fights.
This shows the complexities of trauma and mental illness in various forms. I'm not a specialist but even I can see grief in its many forms. Very well done so far and I'm only on the second episode.
LA 92 (2017)
Excellent Documentry
I lived and drove the riots. The memories are, thankfully to the video that was captured in those days. I hadn't seen this particular doc before and I'm glad I did. Everyone has seen a lot of repetitive footage. Most of this I had never seen before. The anger, the pain, the ignorance was well documented. Almost 30 years later and again this proves that the United States hasn't learned a thing.
Thank you also for the inclusion of La Wally. It's a beautiful peace of music that is equally as painful. Perfect score for the imagery.
Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel (2021)
The Trailer Is As Interesting As It Gets
The Q-Anon level sleuths ruined this. Surprised Ron Howard and Brian Grazer are connected. These sleuths could find a coincidence in cat litter.
A Suitable Boy (2020)
My Imagination Realised
I read A Suitable Boy over ten years ago. The novel was such an investment and I mourned the characters when I finished. This beautiful story was realised for me thanks to this adaption. Six episodes to bring to life those pages may not have been enough, but still brought it home to me in glorious colour. I think it was beautifully portrayed by all the actors. I want sequels to both now.

Victoria & Abdul (2017)
An Important History
I'm very surprised at the lower rating. This was very good. Fame Judi could do no wrong. Such an important story and I'm so glad that those who tried to stifle this relationship didn't win in the end. I'm sure their grandchildren are all ashamed, or should be.
