ATRI-My Dear Moments- (2024)
A Thought-Provoking Journey with Some Uneven Moments
I think that Atri - My Dear Moments captivates with its exceptional animation and emotionally resonant interactions.
The story features an improbable rise in sea levels, which feels somewhat contrived as a plot device. The character development and exploration of complex emotions are noteworthy.
However, the romantic relationship between the protagonist and Atri, who visually resembles a child, may present ethical concerns and discomfort for some viewers.
Despite this, the series offers a visually stunning experience and a narrative that prompts reflection on human relationships and societal issues.
Shy (2023)
SHY (2023) Review
Genre: Action, Drama, Superhero
Target Audience: 14+
Summary:
SHY is a 2023 anime series that tells the story of Teru Momijiyama, a 14-year-old girl who is chosen to be the next superhero of Japan. Teru is a shy and insecure girl who has always felt like she doesn't belong. But when she is given the power of the SHY, she must learn to overcome her fears and step up to protect her country.
Review:
SHY is a well-made anime with a strong female lead. Teru is a relatable character who is easy to root for. She is also a complex character who is struggling with her own personal demons. The supporting cast is also well-developed, and the villains are menacing and believable.
The animation is top-notch, and the action sequences are exciting. The music is also well-done, and it helps to set the tone of the series.
However, there are some aspects of SHY that may be off-putting to some viewers. The series deals with some mature themes, such as identity, sexuality, and violence. These themes are handled in a sensitive way, but they may be too much for some younger viewers.
Overall, SHY is a good anime that is worth watching. However, it is important to be aware of the mature themes before watching it with children.
SHY is a groundbreaking anime that explores important social issues. It is a must-watch for progressive parents who want their children to see positive representations of diversity and inclusion.
Rating: 5/10.
Planet Earth III (2023)
Talks too much about Climate Change
Watch the series, its beautiful, but be warned it will cite Climate Change a lot more than you were expecting or wanting.
It hurts the truth to see so much focus on the natural changes of climate as if it were caused by men.
Most people don't know for example that every year large forests will expontaneously burn at the dry season, be it the Amazon Forest or the cold Siberian Forest.
So it's unfair to say the Cerrado burns because of people clearing land to grow crops. It burns because it's time to burn.
To conclude the example, there's also parts of the land that have been burnt every year for hundreds of years by the natives so they can plant.
The climate changes, it's natural, and men have little to do with it. And even if we did, nature simply takes other spaces like we also do.
Star Trek: Picard: Monsters (2022)
Started and endend nowhere
This is anoter filler episode, it's surely not Star Trek.
THE BEFORE: Nothing prepared us to make it interesting to know Jean Luc's mind.
THE AFTER: The cliffhanger was poor, uninteresting, no clear plot.
What it seems is that the writers were trying to remake these last episodes to be the new "The City on the Edge of Forever", that was the best episode ever.
But they're doing it in the poorest way possible, in a Sitcom style, stretching it, making Soong a villain and Q powerless. And nothing is connected.
It's so bad I'm thinking on stopping to watch this series. I'm even seeing that the horrible Discovery is not so bad in comparison to this season.
So this is 2022, where all the good stories just became brands and they are being sucked for a little money, instead of being nurtured. It's sad to see something that is so rich to be washed down to nothing.
Star Trek: Picard: Two of One (2022)
"Suitable for all audiences" meets Filler and becomes Clickbait Sitcom
I am in disbelief that I have to be here, to say something bad against Star Trek, to leave a note that this is going very badly the wrong way.
I have to be here because hollywood cheap one-size-fits-all reached one of my most beloved series.
I am here to say something bad against Star Trek, because it started well and became a Clickbait full of fillers, with the same actors every episode like its a Sitcom. Most of them aren't useful for all of the plots.
At this point, The Orville is more serious Star Trek on its parody than Discovery.
Matrix 4 and Discovery and the new Pixar, Marvel and Disney movies are some of the examples of washed-down stories with no real emotions, because they could be "aggressive" to some viewers, so they make these new stories very bland and innocent, and on every possible situation come filled with empowerement and all sorts of progressive ideology.
I give it a 4 because I could watch it to the end, in hopes of something coming to the story. I feel betrayed.
Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
Shouldn't have gone past the Pilot
I can wrap this up: (after writing more than 10 reasons why this sucks)
It's a drama that's boring for adolescents, and not deep enough for adults.
Weak Storytelling can be watchable, but this one is beyond poor in every aspect.
If the theme was of a billionaire's kids instead of superheroes, it could have been less bad to make and watch.
Enola Holmes (2020)
It's an entertaining, motivating movie, if you ignore the theme
Conclusion first: Just relax and enjoy the movie lightly, don't try to think it deep.
Explanation if needed:
You grow to like the main character, you get accustomed with the story, and will enjoy yourself and feel for the protagonist, being you a man or woman.
That said, I'd recommend that you see it all more superficially, or you could feel betrayed by a movie dragging you into ideology that you didn't sign for.
I was about to rate the movie 8, for the action and use of intelligence as are all of Sherlock Holmes stories, but I ended giving it a 5 for the ending, as a warning for the next viewer. But don't worry, the conclusion of the movie is short and won't affect your entertaining.
The problem was never what theme they chose, but forcing people into ideology.
The Shack (2017)
Shallow on the most important parts
Friendly movie, it helps you reflect and heal, no matter your religion or lack of it.
Then, know this is a christian story, so it is limited by some of its fallacies, propaganda, fantasies, empty promises and shallow line of thinking.
Be warned Christianism is not a force for good in the world, its values are wrapped nicely but they are flawed, like the concepts of letting go, and forgiveness. And immoral for many reasons; one is try questioning and it will be the end of you.
Avengers: Endgame (2019)
The genre of this movie is Comedy
Of course, Comedy with Fantasy and Action. The heroes are like your uncles and aunts, fun to watch but not what pumps your senses for the thrill.
You'll feel all the time like it's meh, because they want to make all audiences enjoy the movie. Doing that the movie becomes average. So the characters are all good hearted and full of feelings, nothing like a hero who has True Will.
I'm glad that at least this last movie didn't come with ideological references, it was just this polictical correctness that numbs us as society. Everyone is a good boy there.
Anyway, the public that Marvel seeks now is not me. No problem, since I noticed it, I'll just ignore future movies from them.
Leave a thumbs up if now you also agree it's a comedy movie not an action thriller movie, so other people can see this too.
Stranger Things (2016)
Good story for 20 years ago, not for today
The quality of the series is exceptional, everyone agrees on that. Filming, actors, all the things you can see are of the best quality.
But today we have access to information, and don't believe in supernatural stories anymore, things we didn't know 20 years ago.
So there's no point in cultivating theories long gone, not even for fun. I'm sure there are many good real world stories to be told. Most people live in a world of fantasy and will like the series.
The series are cute, but just pure fantasy. If you came here for recommendation, as a rational person, I recommend not to watch, even though it's like The Goonies. Still not good enough.
I hope that Netflix and others make more series on this 80's style, but with a proper story. 6 out of 10. Watchable once.
