it's been a long time, since I've been posting on IMDb.. but this show is absolutely worth watching.
There were some slow yawn-full moments and episodes and a couple of overacting moments through-out the latest episodes, but some of the best parts are done in between moments, when CCH Pounder and Michael Chicklis are meeting on, face to face. It gives a real intense character-play and dispute amongst these two qualified actors and critical claims when it comes to corrupt environmental-issues. The guest-appearances were a big plus for this show also. Whitaker played his part with an emotional yet troubled authority-figure, craving to do whatever he could with his part of that show. I never expected Glenn Close to pull off a role, in the shield..that was really unexpected, but well done, after all.
This show portrays that, intensity doesn't always need gigantic action sequences or unrealistic special effects...it tries to deliver some sort of street value or real aspects of what it feels like, if the viewer were actually present, during busts and interrogations. The shaky cam, is shaky for that reason alone, makes you feel a part of the show. 10/10 nice song at the end credit suits the small memorable montage ;)

Where do I begin, with something that started when I was a kid?! Obviously, there's nostalgic reasons for wanting to see another Rambo movie, starring Sylvester Stallone, who has been an Icon before this franchise started...up until now. Even if his recent movies hasn't given him the credit that he actually deserves.
Rambos job is to lead a group of Christians into the jungle with medical supplies, followed by a group of mercenaries. Rambo declines at first, because of him being a marked man due to traumatic episodes from the war. Suddenly all hell breaks loose, when they are being attacked by a group of soldiers.
The story may not be fulfilling, but the action value is on a very high level. Stallone is more than 60 years old, but that doesn't really matter, cause Stallone doubled or should i say quadrilled, on the violent sequences of brutality. Even small children dies bleeding from their faces as they're getting stepped on...Innocents being killed when soldiers makes a sadistic sport out of land-mines. I was really surprised by the the giant explosion in the jungle which Rambo activates and then avoids the bomb before it triggers...I mean the range...and the pressure of heavy sound effect. I was blown away.
Stallone remembered to make some references to the previous movies from the giant franchise...even the voice of Richard Crenna R.I.P. as colonel Trautman. This may be one of the few thing missing, because they had such great chemistry.
The musical score is updated, but he made sure to keep a theme for Rambo. The score is very pounding, whenever the fight-sequences begin...
Note: my primary objective is focused on the action, cause on the acting level, well..let's just say that it is not too much of a character description, we get in this one... and the team of mercenaries didn't seem like good actors......no..all hails for pure action from the old-school. I was so focused of having Rambo back in action, and I must admit, even if it lacks some dept, this movie makes up for it thanks to a great effort to make one of THE most violent action-movies of the year, without compromising

I just bought this movie very cheap..
I don't write many reviews...but i'll go for another try.
I was at least expecting an average & entertaining movie. The movie is not good, and I don't understand the high/average rating on this board, even though there is only a few voters so far, it doesn't even come close to the result of the movie, which is very disappointing. Understand that everyone has the right, to have different taste in movies...but here it goes..
The movie is poorly done. When it comes to acting, it seems kind of wooden or stiff, in this flick. Even for the legendary actors Reynolds & Dern. As for the lesser known actors, they seem mis-casted. Especially the young girl, who through-out the movie seems too pure, when you think about the dusty environment. Her acting was way too obvious, but not in the talented kind of way.
The guy who played the main badguy, was so annoying and kept overacting his part. Martin kove's performance was kind of laughable, which i'm sure he (personally) was aware of. He had a silly accent and a "special" voice. Also the young the young guy, who protects the girl i the beginnin, reminded a bit of paul walker but his acting was worse.
The music was poorly composed, and seemed to be too much in the background. There was also a lack of dynamic during the action scenes. Sometimes, I thought it sounded like a keyboard(synth) either way, it was only helping the movie, to reach the bottom of no-quality.
The script made the movie kind of predictable, very stereo-type kind of characters etc.
