Van Helsing (2016)
Might appeal to those with low expectations
Everyone turns their back on the person just trying to kill them. Everyone thinks with vampires everywhere all you have to say to live is "please". Most decisions made are the wrong ones. The main male protagonist claims to be a Marine but he keeps getting the crap beaten out of him,
This makes Walking Dead look good. This one can't even be classified as a guilty pleasure.
Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)
Reacher don't
eat at no IHOP. Just ask the TSA guy that took his plane ticket. Oops, he doesn't care, he's making a bundle off this movie.
Bad script writing. The girl was consistently annoying.
The new major's fighting skills relied more on luck than the leverage women need to be bad-ass, and can learn.
The book Reacher uses his brains and this movie forgets it has any.
Action is OK but totally predictable. Forgettable movie. Too bad. Cudda been much more.
Arrowhead (1953)
Grade of C- only because of the Cast
This movie has it all: great names, great locations, bad acting, bad writing and plot holes. The racism from both sides serves no purpose at all. Chuck Heston and Jack Palance both over-act, especially the former. Brian Keith does well for his first acting job but his character changes direction so many times it's hard to tell what his objective as a cavalry officer is supposed to be. There isn't enough of a story so extra characters were brought in that are really not needed to support the story. Confusing Apache culture and dress with that of the Lakota does nothing to create authenticity. Main characters do and say things that don't make sense. Not worth watching twice. Too bad. Katy Jurado was never more beautiful.
