Now i can overlook a lot of things, suffered through some truly horrible movies with absolutely no semblance of a plot. But oh goodness!!!
I was drawn to A Meowy Christmas by the cute kitty on the cover and to be fair the cat and mouse were the best part of the movie. But the lead actor is soooo bad, he has absolutely no acting skills whatsoever. I've recovered from surgeries that were less painful than trying to suffer through his acting. He has to be the son or spouse of the director or an investor because he would never be hired based on acting abilities.
So, avoid A Meowy Christmas at all costs.
2 stars out of ten and the 2 stars are for the cat and mouse.

I saw The Lottery in 1970. Now i don't know which brainchild thought it was a good idea to show this to a room full of fourth graders, but yeah. I was terrified. I had nightmares for years afterwards. The Lottery showed me that the monster movies had it all wrong. The real monsters were the ones that dwelled in the human heart. How could i ever trust anyone again, knowing what they could be capable of? My 9-year-old mind raced with the implications and the darkness of it all.
And so began my lifelong fascination with the horror genre. Few things ever compared to the sheer terror i experienced while watching The Lottery, but still i search.
I know it's out there.

A Stranger in the Woods is a curious film. I liked the premise. A film student doing a documentary on an elderly man who has squirreled himself away from the world. Of course, people seldom do something so drastic for a trivial reason, do they? Victor's (the elderly man in question) secrets aren't revealed too quickly, yet immediately there seems to be something a little off about this character. The story flows as it should and i was really into this, until the big twist. I was a bit disappointed with the route the writer decided to take, but that was my personal views. Someone else might be over the moon about it.
A Stranger in the Woods wasn't a bad movie. I really enjoyed it. But i felt it could've been so much more if another direction had been taken. Still, not a bad way to pass an evening.
Just avoid any strangers in the woods. :)
