The People We Hate at the Wedding (2022)
Written by straight middle schoolers?
Was this written by straight middle schoolers? There are no likeable characters at all in this movie. There is cliche after cliche. But come on, the old standard of gay guys are always swingers? Found that quite offensive. The script tried to portray a disfunctional, sad family but it ended up with a bunch of sad whiny selfish fools ruining each others life. Amazon and Netflix are trying to spit out so many movies apparently to hit some quota and they are missing on content, character development and story. We gave this movie a try and regretted it. But like a car burning in on the side of the road we continued to watch. And we're sorry for it. And the ending was absolutely horrible, basic and simple. I watched this because of Kristen Bell, who I think is amazing. No more. Lastly - my wife has said I am never ever allowed to pick the movie, ever again. "It was a waste of our night".
Castle: What Lies Beneath (2015)
Fillion and Katic hate each other - we get it but did the writers quit?
This series, like many, have gone one too many. The writing is horrendous, I'm rooting for main characters to get shot and for this to just end. Luckily only a few more episodes.
The Gray Man (2022)
Great Actors just working for a paycheck
The writing for this is quite basic and pedestrian. And the scene in Prague has essentially them killing every cop and citizen in that city. A bit over the top. And quite racist during the fight scene with Dhanush, playing the tabla (Indian drums). I was half expecting Celine Dione or Bryan Adams songs for Gosling's other fight sequences. There has to be better writers out there.
Castle: Driven (2014)
Did the writers all quit?
This just wasn't a good episode. The doubting and lack of trust for Castle was ridiculous. The story line had so many gaps. Hope the rest of the season gets better.
Castle: That '70s Show (2014)
One of the best episodes!
I grew up in the 70's and this episode was amazing! I have to love the creativity of the writers! Six years in and they are still surprising me. Love it!
New Girl: Prince (2014)
I love Prince!
Gotta love it when a mega superstar has a sense of humor. I'm sure he got decent compensation for this appearance, but many stars would never have done this type of episode. Kudos to prince. And ... Purple Rain is an iconic album.
Only Murders in the Building: The Boy from 6B (2021)
Annoyingly creative
Okay, I like the idea of presenting from the perspective of a deaf person, but come on, I am hoping deaf people are not constantly subjected to insanely annoying high pitched piano. Either give us silence or normal audio. Please.
Cheaper by the Dozen (2022)
Walt's philosophy: Never do a sequel
This was horrendous. And Walt must be spinning in his grave with this one. There have to some creative minds that Disney can hire. I honestly don't understand the lack of creativity.
Luther (2010)
Great acting but crappy cops
The acting is absolutely incredible in this show. The bad guys are truly psychotic! But in the three episodes I've seen the cops never save anyone! What the hell? The character Luther is apparently smart, but a little slow on solving the cases. And England, please buy your detectives some guns. Do you really send your detectives into a house, with a known serial killer, while the officers with weapons chat outside?
The Batman (2022)
Too Long Too Dark
Longer doesn't mean better. Mr. Pattinson was great. No chemistry whatsoever between Batman and catwoman. Definitely saved money on the bat mobile and electricity. I know Batman is "dark", but this was literally too dark. And the ending was quite anticlimactic.
The Contractor (2007)
Like a good old spaghetti Western
It's a fun ride. Decent plot. Cheesy music - taking from 60's westerns and 70's cop shows. The kid's acting was amazing. And Wesley was a sensitive badass. Definitely worth a watch.
Afterlife of the Party (2021)
Actually very good
This movie is a classic example of why I don't trust others' reviews. I was expecting a Rom-Com, but it was a lot more. Victoria Justice is amazing in this movie. Her chemistry and rapport with the other actors is great! The plot is pretty good, with some nice twists and a cute ending. My wife was crying at the end - that means it's a good movie. I recommend it!
Fool's Gold (2008)
Come on Dude. This movie is amazing.
Matthew McConaughey, Kate Hudson, Donald Sutherland, Kevin Hart and Alexis Dziena are amazing in this movie. The Mel Fisher positivity and vibes are totally evident. The action, fun and adventure make for a great movie. And the flight simulator reference is hysterical! Totally recommend this movie if you love the ocean, adventure and just turning off your brain and enjoying a movie.
The King's Man (2021)
Horribly written
Loved the first two movies. Despised this one. Stupid plot. Unnecessary deaths. Wasted two hours of my life. I'd rather I watched reruns of SpongeBob or South Park.
Brother Bear (2003)
Great movie, characters and soundtrack!
I have been watching this movie for 18 years. Saw it in the theaters when my oldest was 3 and just watched it with her tonight - my college senior - and it's just as great as ever. Phil Collins and Tina Turner are amazing with the music. We still love the old bears - "I'm not dead!" Rick Moranis & Dave Thomas are classic as the moose, particularly when they play "I spy"...which to this day we all constantly recreate while we're in the car. I consider this movie part of Disney's golden years with releases of Brother Bear, Lilo and Stitch, Monsters Inc., etc...
Encanto (2021)
Animation-Amazing. Music-Mediocre. Story-Simple
The colors, character design and effects were wonderful. The music was lively, but forgettable. The story felt rushed, too many characters and I knew the ending 5 minutes into the movie. Disney + is getting like Netflix...just crank out the movies so people keep subscribing.
The Blacklist: Konets (2021)
The whining can finally stop
Now that no more "answers" are needed by the most pathetic character ever written into a script, perhaps the show can get back to its original greatness from the first few seasons.
The Princess Bride (1987)
At least the 30th time watching this
Possibly, after Casablanca, this is the greatest movie of all time. The writing, the chemistry between all of the actors and the absolute honor and decency the main characters display is beyond compare. In 2021 many people could learn from this.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Great movie, but...
Loved almost all aspects of this movie, funny, creative, and action filled. Why the anti- American theme? Hollywood is getting out of control. I was rooting for the starfish in the end. I really was.
The Blacklist: Elizabeth Keen (No. 1) (2021)
Really bad. Really
Ressler gets blown up, but is able to have sex that night. Keen is a Mensa member and all of the men are now dumber than a sack of hammers, based on this script. The FBI is pursuing her, but her badge to the "post office" still works? Everyone wants to kill her, but she still wants her daughter with her? Are the real writers on strike?
Hawkeye: Echoes (2021)
Great episode why is he deaf?
This was an amazing episode, but with the MCU you can't just randomly and unexpectedly make Hawkeye deaf based on the 1983 comic, when there's no explanation anywhere in the movies. Traditionalists probably love it, but the rest of us not so much. Absolutely loving Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeild's interaction. Their chemistry reminds me of that which I have with my crazy animator 21 year old daughter Sofia. Good stuff.
The Blacklist: Katarina Rostova (No. 3): Conclusion (2020)
One down, one to go
This is a ten, if the ending of this isn't another "fake". Now I'm hoping that the daughter meets the same ending. Will only continue to watch to see how it plays out. Regardless, Ressler and Keen blaming Redington for all that's happened is totally a reflection of the millennial writers who think they deserve everything and control the world. Nope. You don't.
The Blacklist: Roanoke (No. 139) (2020)
Bad opening episode
Stop using classical rock songs in these horrible episodes. You're ruining them for everyone. And Elizabeth Keen is not a sympathetic character. She's simply incredibly annoying. I'm praying for certain characters to die. We shall see...
South Park: The Pandemic Special (2020)
This was the perfect episode
I have kids and this episode TOTALLY reflected the insanity of this whole pandemic regarding school. The Mickey side plot was a bit weird, but then again- so has the last two years.
The Blacklist: The Kazanjian Brothers (No. 156/157) (2020)
This show has become a joke
Why didn't they just suspend shooting episodes? Toy Story was released 35 years prior to this show. They couldn't find any high school animators? The animation looked like something my daughter made in 8th grade on our iMac. I'm getting nauseous watching this. I will watch this series until the end because I know I will enjoy the ultimate ending, since there are some characters on this show that are horrendous. But it will be more painful than a root canal without Novocain. Episode just ended. Elizabeth Keen and Katarina Rostova are the worst characters ever conceived.
