I looked forward to this film, considering the stellar cast and Helen Hunt directing. But I was left unfulfilled. The acting was excellent, but it seemed as if much of the story was cut from the final product. The characters never really develop enough for you to know them or care much about them. It's probably the fault of the film editors, trying to fit it into a certain length, but I really felt I never got to know any of these people. It's very disjointed and for awhile it's hard to figure out who is who. Is that the brother or the husband? Whose child is that? Etc. And I was very disappointed in the ending. There were many imaginative endings, and they chose something safe and PC. Save the money and wait until you can see it for free.

I used to watch this show with my Mom when she'd let me stay up late. Della Reese was quite impressive as a talk show host. Her singing was beyond compare. Her side-kick was the comedian Sandy Baron. They had a segment of the show called "improvs", sort of like "Who's line is it anyway".
