Moonfall (2022)
I've never watched such a rushed long movie!
This movie felt rushed, but somehow at the same time for like longest movie I've ever watched. If you watch it you'll know exactly what I mean.
I was expecting a crappy disaster movie. What I got was a crappy sci-fi movie.
Nothing made logical sense even in the the movies own universe.
Dune (1984)
No idea what I watched
It was a feast for my eyes. Good old practical effects and amazing visuals.
But my brain hurts. I have no idea what was going on. Still don't. After a second viewing.
Shameless (2011)
Americans will love it, Brits will enjoy it.
Basically first season is the British shameless, but everyone is more beautiful, hopeful, happier and cringyer. Basically like any American version of a British TV shows.
Doesn't work too well following the British show. Once it veers from the British characterizations and stories. Its comes into a world of its own.
If you're American you'll love it. If you're British and love the original shameless. Try and get through the show till is veers from the British storylines and you'll enjoy it.
Please try not to compare it to the British version. You'll not like it. Just watch it as its own thing.
Prometheus (2012)
Would be a good film if...
This would of been a very good, visualy pleasing
and entertaining sci-fi horror. If they hadn't forced the whole "it's in the alien universe" part of the movie.
Dark Side of the Ring (2019)
A must watch for any wrestling fan.
As much as we may never know the truth behind alot of these stories. This is as close as any of us fans will get.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
1 reason for the 4 star review
Only reason I gave this 4 star and not 1 was the cast. Mainly Adam Driver, Bill Murray and Chloë Sevigny (the 3 police characters).
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
I really wanted to like this movie.
I really wanted to like this movie. Unfortunately it just wasn't what I was expecting at all.
The first movie was alright. I thought this was going to be the Wonder Woman movie I always wanted to see.
Cheetah is to Wonder Woman. What Joker is to Batman. She was relataged to a side villain. Such a shame. Take Cheetah out of this movie and it's the same movie. She didn't need to be in this. Along with her terrible CGI.
I thought the main villain in this would be Cheetah. It isn't. It's Maxwell Lord. I didn't even know he was a character in this movie till I watched it.
It would be a better movie with Wonder Woamy fighting Max Lord alone. But Maxwell Lord doesn't sell the movie to a casual audience.
So much promise. Ruined.
Still not a bad movie. Just a disappointment.
Tom yum goong (2005)
Only worth watching for he fight scenes
I really wanted to like this movie. After what people were saying I was expecting an amazing film.
It isn't.
The acting is total crap, story wasn't engaging at all, the VFX was utter rubbish and as soon as we got to Australia. The whole thing seemed rushed.
But that doesn't mean it isn't worth a watch. That opening scene with the elephants was breath taking. And the fight scenes and stunts are utter master class.
Fatman (2020)
Good twist on the standard Christmas movie
I enjoyed the hell out of this.
Obviously makes no logical sense, but Santa doesn't anyway.
Mel Gibson is prefect for a fed up, sick of it Santa.
Very enjoyable movie.
The Hunt (2020)
Not what I expected at all.
It was in the horror section while I was looking for a movie to watch.
I was not expecting a cheesy, funny action packed movie.
Nice surprise.
Floor Is Lava (2020)
Stop having annoying contestants
The idea of the show is pretty good and is somewhat entertaining.
They do need to explain the rules and the idea of the show more.
And for god's sake! Stop with the annoying, loud and in your face contestants. Everyone I have seen on the show do far has annoyed me.
Dolittle (2020)
How the hell did this cost so much?
I wasn't expecting much from this. I also wasn't expecting it to be this bad.
The voices don't sync up, the CGI is god awful and the story is crap.
A few funny little jokes but all round rubbish.
Doctor Dolittle (1998)
Kids movies aren't like this anymore
Yea. This isn't the original story of Dolittle but it's worth a watch.
I loved this as a kid. Never seen it since I was a kid. Now I've watched this with my kids after countless other newer kids movies. I never realised how much swearing and adult humour is in this movie.
Kids movies aren't like this anymore.
Dark Side of the Ring (2019)
A must watch for any wrestling fan.
As much as we may never know the truth behind alot of these stories. This is as close as any of us fans will get.
Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
Soild Rambo Action
I don't get the hate. Obviously not as good as the first. You can never make a Rambo movie as good as the first because of the way the character has developed.
Good story. Not a happy ending. John Rambo isn't a character you write happy endings for. Loads of action. Gory deaths and the old "Rambo picking off all the bad guys" scene.
Yea, the bad guy isn't good but Stallone is so strong as Rambo it makes up for it.
Soild Rambo Action movie.
The Babysitter (2017)
It knows exactly what it is.
If anyone watched the trailers. They will know not to expect anything. I didn't expect a good film and I was pleasantly surprised with this one.
It knows exactly what it is. A cheesy B rated movie. It plays to that.
I expected utter crap, but got B movie cheese gold. I enjoyed the hell of out is this one. It makes no logical sense at all but it's funny and enjoyable.
Go in to expect cheese and you will love it.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Decent concept but crap execution.
The ideas are there. Story is ok. I like some of the acting. And the overall concept of the film I liked. But the execution with the crap CGI and mostly crappy acting ruined it for me.
I didn't care at all for the main girl and the evil terminator. Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger were amazing and the girl from blade runner were pretty good. But the rest I didn't buy into.
The overall concept of the film and the story was decent. I didn't like the crap CGI. Which was most of the film.
The Invitation (2015)
Except a slow burn
This was a very slow burn but it builds tension extremely well. I personally didn't find it boring. The last 20mins gives you a decent pay off.
Because of this though I wouldn't recommend this to everyone. It's a slow film. It's not for the general movie goer at all.
Friday the 13th (2009)
Best of a bad franchise
This isn't an outstanding or even good movie, but it's enjoyable.
This isn't going to make you gasp, feel good or cry. This isn't going to win awards. Not by a long shot.
Like all the other Friday the 13th movies. This isn't what I would say a "good" movie. But like the other Friday the 13th movies. It's really enjoyable. Even 10 years on, it's a more updated version of the early movies.
Worth a watch.
Uranium: Twisting the Dragon's Tail (2015)
Simple and easy to understand.
As the title. It's very simple and easy to understand. The host helps the viewer understand science and you can tell, loves science.
Amazing, educational show.
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
Weakest movie of the franchise.
Definitely the weakest movie within the franchise. That is saying something with a franchise that has Jason X in Freddy vs Jason in.
Still enjoyable, but I found myself bored and confused at times.
Effects are pretty much none existent. Most kills are off camera. Hardly any gore at all for a slasher movie. Acting isn't as bad as other movies within the franchise but still leaves a lot to be desired. The characters don't seem to have any back story at all. Not to mention the story. It's very poorly written. You can see the twist from a mile away but the way it plays out doesn't make sense at all.
Still enjoyed it, but definitely wouldn't recommend to someone that isn't into slasher movies.
The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell (2018)
Strange show
Me and my 5 year old son loved this, but it's a very strange show.
Very interesting concept of a creative baking/cooking show for the family with a dark twist.
I love cooking but find cooking shows really boring. As for this, it's very entertaining. Even my 5 year old son watched it with me.
The characters are friendly and entertaining but still remain dark.
This show is entertaining even though it's a cooking show.
Give it a try, you never know.
