Tyrel (2018)
gloomy manhood
Comparing this movie with "Get Out" reaches the pinnacle of superficiality. It's far more, far better than "Get Out" in the first place. It is the most vivid piece of art I can remember, in recent movie history, about toxic, gloomy manhood. it's, in fact, a thriller of small gestures, under the castle of the warm, "cozy" friendships. Great one. Great pace, without getting to explain every detail, which is what the lazy audience wants.
The Lennon Report (2016)
a few good, a few lame moments
Not as bad as some say here. There is some good cinema in the surgery room, on the NFL broadcast, near Dakota (should be more of this). But the scene at the locker room, with the nurse going to comfort the doctor, both bloody under the sound of the violin, is one of the lamest in the history of movies. Both actors didn't do well. And all the journalist thing (all the script enfolding that guy) is really bad cinema- and I don't care it was the "truth". Doesn't sound true. And 50% of the film goes like this.
Love After Love (2017)
Not for dumb people
Film in the cadence of the life, the life lived in the chosen memories. If people complain about the cuts and ellipses and the "lack of info" in between scenes better go watch Thor, Captain America or some similar idiocy. Great work of art.
Coach (2010)
great small movie
what to expect from life when life changes?
what's next?
mix it and ball game and you get "the coach".
do not expect a groundbreaking film, but expect at least identify yourself there. little big movies are about that.
this story can be installed in our imagination and it is there under several different ways. but here is a very well-made, articulated and perfect genre film, with a great capacity of holding those who watch. with an outlook on life and on people that you won't see in every film of that particular genre. simple and delicious.
