No doubt this was a child movie but the trailer focused mostly on the Guardian whereas the movie was mostly about the kids. A bit misleading. I thought this was going to be like a Black Adam or Shazam type. Not even close. Acting was so so but the scriptwriting and story was painful. Owen Wilson is a iconic character but the writers wrote him in as Owen Wilson playing Owen Wilson, no Guardian or superhero vibes. Hard fetch to see Owen Wilson playing a superhero role but moreso of a comical actor or a sidekick. Had a hard time stomaching the film. It had great potential just the layout of the film is a quick watch that is easily forgotten.
One of my all time classic favorites. With an amazing cast lineup , great comedy, and beautiful drawn out story, Kelly's Heroes makes a movie of WWII a comical and adventurous journey while still upholding the realism of war. Donald Sutherland will always be my favorite actor nonetheless his comical and charming role in this film reinforces it. Clint Eastwood also an amazing actor with his tight solid expression and demeanor strikes his seriousness and commanding role, adding to this film. Unfortunately movies like this are a rarity nonetheless nowadays where war movies can balance out both comical with reality and have an amazing lineup of highly respected and vetted actors.
Joaquin Phoenix did a superb job as his role as Joker. To play a man insane due to abuse and misunderstood is an insurmountable task that was well played by Joaquin. Incorporating musical numbers into the movie a great addition to the film utilized before by the great films of the past. Rather than just seeking a movie with a story, this film delivers entertainment, a story, and into the mindset and delusions of Joker unable to focus on reality rather than his mindset being disconnected, drifting off into his own reality far away from the harshness of his reality as an escape and finding logic and reasoning within his own created realm. Only those open and willing to the story as a whole, un-opinionated , will the greatness of the story and the intricacies of a film showing the reality of a man who lost his mind.
