This is a much better movie about the Tuskegee airmen than RedTails and other similar movies. It does a good job showing how they had to overcome the bigoted attitudes of the time and how they won the respect of the all white bomber crews. I have an idea that conditions were actually much worse than what was depicted. Kudos especially to Laurence Fishburne and Andre Braugher, outstanding performances.
These Hallmark movies are pretty predictable. So if you're expecting some riveting plot, please go elsewhere. These are strictly for holiday warmth and nostalgia. I like this one more than some because the leads are better than others that get recycled through these Hallmark movies. Other reviewers say the acting is bad. They haven't seen other Hallmark movies. These two are much more natural. Not a whiny or over the top arrogant boyfriend. Not the mousy under confident female. Much more enjoyable.
The movie is set in Halloween 1965. Unfortunately some of the music played during the show was not released until after that. Seems like this should have been easy for them them to verify. Other than that it is entertaining amd probably pretty typical antics for the time frame.
