Bangkok Dangerous is enjoyable with flaws.
I liked the Bangkok scenes, although they depict Bangkok a little too dark than in reality. I think its a very sweet city, of course dense and polluted, but still cosy.
Flaws... well, in the beginning, why does the 'dispensable boy' say good bye in Russian since he is Czech?
Also cage thanks in Thai by using the female way.. kophun khaa, instead of kophun krup or however it should be spelled... no idea why American movies always do such obvious flaws.
Anyway, the story was alright, predictable of course, but still fun to watch... I guess I just like Cage as an actor overall....

This movie is deeply emotional and moving. Depicting a moral fight of Tono, an average citizen. Tono finds himself in an internal struggle between the moral right and evil. The last hour of the movie is full of pain, hatred, terror and psychological suffering of the Slovak citizen during the times of Jewish deportation. It's so real that it makes you live through the struggle Tono faces. Should he save the old Jewish lady or not? It's surely one of the best, if not the best, Slovak movies ever made. P.S. To all those thinking this is a Czech movie, it's not. It's more Slovak than you'd think. Of course at the time it was CzechoSlovak cinematography. But actors in this movie are Slovak and the language is Slovak. :)
I went to see this movie not expecting much. I was however nicely surprised. Although it was very predictable, most comedies are. Nevertheless this movie pointed to the fact I fully agree with. Standardized Tests are in no way any representation of one's knowledge or potential. They are just means to create a unreal ranking amongst kids. SATs are furthermore stressful and very de-motivating for students. One who succeeds on a SAT often gets far too carried away and then just does average. The Perfect Score nicely pointed it out, and with its teenage humor it amused me well. It's not about who you are, the SAT is about who you'll be. That's an unfortunate reality :))
