I personally served 5 combat tours between Iraq and Afghanistan. Each time I returned, I found myself having a harder time separating myself from the military. I ended up being career because it was all I knew. It cost me 4 marriages, 3 children, and my mental health. My current wife (#4) is trying to help me stay on my feet and walk a civil path. Between pills for pain and many meds for psychiatric treatment I am slowly moving on. With movies like this, I am able to take what I can and fix each problem.
First, needs to get these people (trolls) out of here padding the 1 star ratings. Now with that said, you have to consider Molly's story as a whole before judging this. It is imperative that you see the Haunting of Molly Hartley (if you haven't) before watching. That is only so you can get a little back story on Molly. So, without giving away any story, my review is 8 out of 10 and see both of them sequentially if it's been awhile since you saw Haley Bennet as Molly. However, as far as exorcism movies go - I thought this was as good as Emily Rose but the Exorcist is still the best one.
For those who gave this a low rating, you obviously expected too much. The movie was intended to be cheesy and ridiculous. When you watch it, you have to have the right mindset and sense of humor. The pure ridiculousness is along the lines of 1978's attack of the killer tomatoes, which, by the way spawned three sequels.
