The Dark Shadow of Murder (2020)
Truly Moving Documentary
Very moving, painstaking account of a mother losing her daughter to a violent and senseless murder, and the police investigation that followed. Not for the faint of heart.
Acceptable Damage (2019)
Powerful UK Anti-Bullying Drama
The cast and cinematography are great in this indie UK anti-bullying drama. More people need to be made aware of these issues. Soundtrack is top-notch too.

Very Informative Classical Music Documentary

A Life Lived (2016)
Denise Richards in a Heartfelt Drama Anthology
Entertaining, occasionally moving anthology drama about the journey of a single dollar bill and the lives of the people whose hands it passes through. Denise Richards gives a great performance and the rest of the cast perform admirably too.

Wall-To-Wall Fight Scenes
There are more exciting hand-to-hand fight scenes than you can possibly imagine in this fast-paced indie actioner. German martial arts phenom Mike Moeller takes centre stage and lights up the screen with his charm and energy. Stacks of fun if you're into indie martial arts movies.

Weapon (2020)
Compelling Conspiracy Drama
No spoilers but this is an intriguing conspiracy story revolving around a therapy group for military operators who have experienced trauma, and how some of them can be manipulated into doing some unthinkable things. The cast is really strong, and the film ends on a genuinely unsettling note.
Looking for Lennon (2018)

Incredibly informative and entertaining documentary about the young John Lennon, including interviews with those who knew him best. Worth watching if you have the slightest interest in who Lennon was as a man.

Entertaining UK Indie Post-Apocalyptic Horror
A collection of talented UK actors are trapped in an underground bunker when the unthinkable happens and London is hit by a nuclear strike. But then the survivors start getting killed off and it's clear that the bunker isn't as secure as they thought. A fun, occasionally gory action horror.

Incredible Documentary About the Liverpool Music Scene
Liverpool wasn't just all about the Beatles and this superb, immersive documentary takes you through the history and culture of the Mersey music scene. Interviews with so many legends and experts. Essential viewing for music fans, and entertaining and informative for even the most casual viewer.
Jack Walker (2021)
Die Hard on a Film Set - Indie Action Comedy Fun
The immensely talented martial arts phenom Mike Moeller and his team are behind the action scenes (and in front of camera) in this wacky action comedy which plays out like Die Hard on an Indie film set. It's cheap and cheerful, but there are lots of film production in-jokes, and plenty of exciting hand to hand combat to enjoy.
Soundtrack to Sixteen (2020)
Hugely Enjoyable Coming of Age Comedy With Heart
Loved this fun coming of age teen comedy. The young cast are terrific and the soundtrack is great too. The Shakespeare Sisters are UK creatives on the rise and definitely ones to watch in the years ahead.
Crypsis (2019)
Fun Indie "Teens In Peril" Horror
Standard monster story about Teens going off to a remote island and then being picked off one-by-one by an unseen predator. The creature effects are great.
Broken Mile (2016)
Non-Stop, Real Time Indie Drama / Thriller
Super-smooth camerawork, minimal editing and strong acting performances elevate this gem of an indie drama. The talented director Justin McConnell keeps proceedings moving at a fast pace. Very enjoyable.
Brothers in Football (2018)
Must See! Uplifting and Fascinating Soccer Documentary
I'll start off by saying that I have virtually no interest in soccer at all, but I found the historical story behind this documentary completely compelling, and as we follow the small, plucky UK team on what turns out to be the adventure of a lifetime, I became more and more involved. Genuinely a must-see.
The Paddy Lincoln Gang (2014)
Intriguing Dark LA Drama
The cast are great in this mysterious drama about a band just about to hit the big time in LA, when they start coming apart at the seams. Dean Jagger from the hit TV show "Warrior" gives a superb central performance, and the finale of the film is unexpectedly dark and violent.
Riki Rhino (2020)
Animated Kids Adventure With Conservation Message
Riki Rhino is a fun animated jungle adventure mostly aimed at young kids, with a strong, positive message about wildlife conservation. The voice acting is fun and Riki Rhino himself gains some exciting super powers as he goes on his quest. The soundtrack is very catchy indeed.
13 Graves (2019)
Superb Indie Horror Crime Thriller
This terrific indie horror thriller is written and directed by the very talented John Langridge, who gets enjoyable performances from his game cast. There are some gruesome moments throughout the film, and a genuine build in tension to the climactic finale. A great example of low budget UK indie genre film-making.
Rootwood (2018)
Enjoyable Indie Horror
Had a lot of fun with this one. No spoilers, but the final act of the film is radically different to the build-up and it makes for an exciting change of tone while remaining firmly in the horror space. There are some neat, inventive kills throughout.
Daytime Nightmare (2020)
Inventive Psychological Horror
Katrina Grey stars in, writes and directs this psychological horror film about an aspiring actress who starts to realise that her nightmares are seeping into her reality. The beautiful Thailand locations provide a picturesque backdrop to this ambitious independent production. Great soundtrack too.
Seagull (2019)
Revenge Drama With A Difference
Seagull uses a sleepy Kent seaside town as it's backdrop rather than the usual London cityscape, and to good effect. The personal relationships between the main characters in the family are tense and occasionally disturbing, and as the story escalates to the inevitable final showdown you get the unsettling feeling that things are going to go very wrong indeed for all concerned. It's a small-scale independent film with a committed cast, and you can tell that everyone involved gave it everything. Jessica Hynes' character is indeed very different from those we are normally used to seeing her play.
Outpost 11 (2013)
Tense Sci Fi Thriller
It's a modest budget production but there are some great ideas here, good performances and a tension-inducing sense of claustrophobia. A great example of UK indie genre film-making.
